Interview with Robert Fischer

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: At the moment I'm working on some live recordings by an amazing Brass-Band called Marshall Cooper, while being in the final touches of a record I mixed for Gerd Knebel, one half of legendary german comedy-Duo Badesalz...

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: My buddy LR AUDIO

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: There was never such a question for me! I always found the Analog vs Digital Debate to be pointless! If I like a piece of gear, I use it, If I don't like it, I don't use it! No matter if Analog, Digital or whatever...

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: Beeing with musicians!

  9. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  10. A: How do you make that boom tschak fell so goood...?:)

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: Really depends!

  13. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  14. A: Talk about your vision & inspiration before anything technical happens!

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: Uhh, so many! Let's say Björk.

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: Decide and move further!

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: Is it music, does it feel good?:) There really isn't a specific genre or something like that! Variety is really important to me, keeps me on an adventure...

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: Understanding the Composer's/producer's vision & inspiration and really bringing it out!

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: I just don't stop untill I'm arriving, where I thought I could take it! And I really want the musicians/producer to love how their music/record feels!

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: Big knobs & Faders! Some are digital and some are analouge...

  27. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  28. A: My main inspiration is Life itself, with all the stories it tells! But recently I'm fascinated with Hans Zimmer & Alan Meyerson! As well as Sylvia Massy!

  29. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  30. A: In the last couple of years I really focused on mixing / stem-mastering records & (extreme) digital editing / Sounddesign.
