Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: My Guitar, My Flute, Go Pro, Mac Book Pro with Logic Pro :)

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: Its been a long journey, I have started playing instruments when I was a kid, as my mother is a Professional Sitar Player and my father use to play Harmonica at home, there use to be musical sessions / sittings / jammings at my home when I as a child, later as I started growing up my keen interest get developed in music and I left my home to learn music, I stayed at a Sufi Dargah ( Sheikh Saleem Chishti Tomb, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra, India ) there I got trained staying with Kawwali Singers and sufi people. After learning for years when it was done, I left to Mumbai to find opportunities, and with time and God's Grace I started composing and producing music professionally.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Every artist have a different and unique style of making music, I do Orchestral Scores which can support the Video and enhance the emotion, sometimes even a silence makes a huge impact on the screen. My own style is quite different from others as I have learnt music staying at a Dargah ( Sufi Tomb ) from Kawaali Ustads and Sufi people for years and that flavour can naturally be seen in my songs and music.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: My song 'Tere Sang Tere Bin', which has been sung by Bollywood Playback Singer Leon De Souza from Oscar Winner Composer Mr. A.R.Rahman's Camp and My own Ustad Mr. Saleem Hasan Chisti. I was the composer producer of this song and the song was appreciated by Mr. A.R.Rahman himself.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: An Orchestral theatrical backgrond score for Westworld & HBO.

A: Myself.

A: I prefer digital as it is flexible and portable.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: I will work hard until you get a 100% satisfaction.

A: Listening my own songs, sung by different artists!

A: Name of the brands / movies / Albums I have worked on, my answer: Type Ashish Ali on Google search. :)

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: People think composing / producing music is way way easy, Producers just buy a laptop add tracks and make music, thats the Biggest misconception about all the Music Producers.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: The Idea, The Emotion, The Duration and USP of their product.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: You have visited the right profile, I will fullfil all the music requirements you have, I have worked on all the genres in these 14 years of musical journey, MY ADVICE FOR YOU IS "JUST MESSAGE ME" It wont charge a penny to interact and share ideas. :)

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: I can say with my own experience that 80% of the sound quality comes from how do you record it, If you have recorded all the stems of a song in an extremely clean and clear enviornment (it can be in a Huge Studio or even in a Home Setup) 80% of your song is ready to go, No much Sfx, Mixing or Compressors will be needed to glorify it.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Fusion Songs & Orchestral Music.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Composing tunes out of.a fresh lyrics, and do music arrangements.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: Song's lyrics & composition comes first, after that the whole technical aspect of it.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I write / compose a song on my guitar as that's my own comfort zone as Guitar has both the elements melody and rhythm, Then I work on the chord progression, harmonies, (Alaps, Harkats etc), once I get 100% satisfaction from what I have composed / written, I share it with a few of my friends just for a basic feedback, after getting a positive feedback I move in the studio and record the lead vocals and structure the song with live instruments and VSTs. I leave the song once I am done with the song, after a few days I check the same song again with fresh ears and do minor tweaks to make it sound better. and that how I work on my own music, songs and projects.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: James Blunt is the only Living Legend with whom I would love to work because of the way he write / compose his songs and then structure it. It was my desire to work with the king of pop Mr. Michael Jackson and Holy Humble Sir Bob Marley, but unfortunately they both left us but there is a lot to learn from their songs.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: Learning is the only way to make better Music, it should never stop, listening to world music which has been produced by many other producers / artists come up with a lot of different ideas which inspire me to make my music more tighter, brighter and creative.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: Hi, I am a Music Compser / Producer, I do Arrangements, Compose songs, Theatrical Orchestral Scores, Commercial Advertisements and Radio Projects for Clients like Horlicks, Royal Enfield, Cadbury and many more. I have recorded a lot of Bollywood Playback Singers on my own Songs / Compositions and Music. In these 14 years I have worked on almost every genre. I am passionate about music and love interacting artist sharing and learning knowledge from other's experiences.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I have a professional studio setup in hub of the city, but due to the Covid situations I had to shift all the essential gears at my home and currently I am working from my home studio setup.
