Bring world-class horns and low brass to your project! Recorded in Nashville by a professional musician, composer, and engineer!
I’m a Nashville native and low brass specialist with 20 years of professional experience working with artists such as Jon Pardi, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Marcus King, Melinda Doolittle, Trisha Yearwood, and Laura Bell Bundy.
I provide horn overdubs, arrangements, and brass composition with the option of full audio engineering, giving your tracks a polished, broadcast-ready sound. Clients hire me for my ability to deliver fast, musical, and professional results that make their songs stand out.
I hold a B.M. in Music Education (Belmont University) and an M.M. in Trombone Performance (Austin Peay State University), and I’ve worked as a composer, orchestrator, arranger, and audio engineer. My experience also includes performing with the United States Marine Corps, providing ceremonial and public performances for top military and government leaders.
Whether your project is pop, jazz, country, or funk, I bring precision, musicality, and creativity to every session. Click the ‘Contact’ button above and let’s bring your music to life with world-class horns!

Interview with Scott B. Hearn
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm a one stop shop for everything low brass. I can track a full low brass section in a single sitting and give you crystal clear tracks with zero bleed.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I'm always acutely aware of leaving space for the main focus of the song. My role is frequently to add that extra flavor to make the song pop, but still be a component rather than a feature. Pepper makes a dish taste great, but too much makes it hard to enjoy.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I love a hybrid approach. Analog gear on the way in, digital for post production. If you get an awesome sound from the start, the rest goes much smoother.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you're multitracking the same player on the same instrument, change something between takes. Retune, different mouthpiece, take a step back from the mic, etc. This helps get rid of the "phasey" sound that can come from stacking the same source.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is optimized for overdub recording. I have space for horns, strings, percussion, vocals, and more. My most commonly used gear is listed in my profile, but I have a combination of mics and preamps that include ribbons, condensers, tubes, solid state, and vintage emulations.
