Drums - Percussion - Mixing

Frangroove on SoundBetter

If drumset or percussion recording is what you are looking for, you have come to the right place. You need an accurate mix for your song? Send me a message!

Hi there! My name is Francisco, I am a professional drummer, percussionist and mixing engineer from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I lived and studied in New York and Sweden so feel free to contact me in any of these languages.
I run my own recording studio, so I´ll be glad to record or produce drum set rhythms or any percussion instrument that you need. I will happily mix your song or track as well.

I am highly skilled at a wide variety of percussion instruments (drumset, congas, bongo, timbal, berimbau, cajon). I can record exactly what you have in mind, or help you find the beat or color your song needs.
Drumset wise, I can use different drums, snares and cymbals according to the sound you are looking for (vintage, big, modern, clean, dry, etc).

We will talk about what you want for the song, and you will get an MP3 demo. We can make all the revisions we need. When we are OK with the drum parts, I will record them with all the mics and send you the separate drum tracks for you to mix. If you want, I can mix the drums as well and send you a stereo track.

I have been a touring and recording drummer for the last 15 years.

Looking forward to working with you!

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Interview with Frangroove

  1. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  2. A: I like to think I bring life to a song. Whether it´s a steady deep groove, a bombastic fill oriented part or a touch of world percussion flavour. The vintage side of things are my favourite, drums, cymbal and mic wise.

  3. Q: What's your typical work process?

  4. A: First, I will need the track that I am going to be working on, the tempo if it´s recorded to a click track, and any other comments or instructions you feel I should know. I will record the drums/percussion and send you an mp3 bounce with all the separated wav tracks. We can have as many revisions as we need in order for it to be perfect.

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: THE STUDIO There are two different recording rooms in the studio. One is big, warm and woody, the other one is smaller and more intimate. There is also a mix room where we make our mixing, editing and productions. We have good old ribbon mics for a vintage touch, plus condenser and dynamic mics. We use Shure, AKG, RØDE, Avantone. DRUMS I own a wide variety of drums and cymbals. I have a few 60s and 70s drum kits if you are into vintage sound (my favourite!), plus brand new Gretsch maple and birch drums. Also a few Ludwig snares (you can never go wrong with a supraphonic!). PERCUSSION I am highly skilled at a wide variety of percussion instruments (drumset, congas, bongo, timbal, berimbau, cajon, triangle, caxixis, shekere). I can record exactly what you have in mind, or help you find the beat or color your song needs. If you are not sure about what you want, don't worry! I'll help you out with the production part (I love doing that!)

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: I love Ringo Starr, Charllie Watts, Steve Jordan. Bernard Purdie, John Bonham.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: These are the three things I do the most: * Drumset Recording. If your tune needs a professional sounding drumset recording, I´m your man. * Percussion Production and Recording. Whether you know exactly what instument you want for your song, or you have no idea but feel like a percussion part would suit nice, I´ll help you with that. * Audio mixing & editing. If you have a song that needs mix or an audio that needs editing, count me in.
