Kit 'Mr Kit' Wilmans Fegradoe

Film Composer & Music Producer

Kit 'Mr Kit' Wilmans Fegradoe on SoundBetter

Composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Score work has been selected by SXSW & DOCNYC and have had music projects supported by Brian Eno's Earth Percent Foundation. Releases with record labels include Important Records, A Strangely Isolated Place & HeartDance Records.

I'm a trumpet player and composer/producer with over 15 years of experience writing electronic and adjacent music styles. In recent years I've become more known for electronic ambient styles across my pluriversal discography. I've written music from modern classical, to drone, to jazz fusion, hip-hop and breakbeat.

My body of score work highlights lesser known narratives and unexplored territories on film. From Nigerian philosophy to ancient Vietnamese architecture, migrant stories and queer activism, my work expresses and explores creative vitality that arises from uplifted voices from various corners of the world. My score work has been selected for SXSW & DOCNYC as well as being showcased in printed press in the UK and Europe.

My approach to music and scores has been strongly influenced by my hyperfantasic imagination. I can acutely sense the imagined worlds clients are bringing forth. Clients have returned to work with me because that sense makes me adept at empathising with the narrative. Working together I can connect to your vision, what you see, what you hear and bring it out of the imagined and into the real with a sense of vitality.

I'd love to hear about what you're dreaming up, so I offer a 30-minute free consultation to chat over your ideas, thoughts and project so we can see what I may be able to bring and if I'm the right person for the work.

Interview with Kit 'Mr Kit' Wilmans Fegradoe

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I'm currently finding a home for my 6th album which is a burst of electronic beat driven music I'm not usually known for. Field Recordings From The Future is preparing for its full UK 2026 tour. My album Glimmers has just been released and is helping a lot of people reset their nervous system through it's deep drones. I'm preparing a live show to go on tour early 2026 for it. I'm also working with the local community in my area to create music events grounded in active imagination of beautiful futures.

  3. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  4. A: Trumpet, Swarsangum, Drums, Ipod, Field Recorder

  5. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  6. A: I have an incredibly sensitive and well trained ear. What this means is that I'm able to clearly and swiftly hear what a piece of music needs and what it doesn't need. I'm equipped with the tools to be able to transfer this instinctive skill into practice and refine music to it's most essential and powerful parts.

  7. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  8. A: I'm incredibly moved by the scores of Vangelis (Blade Runner), Michael Stearns (Baraka & Samsara), Oneohtrix Point Never (Uncut Gems) among many others. I find myself always inspired by the Kings and Queens of Jazz, the emotive traditional music of Japan, classical Indian music (in particular Shakti and Ravi Shankar) and a swathe of electronic music from all over the world.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: I regularly do score work for short films which includes writing, recording and producing material from the ground up. I work closely with directors to elevate their vision through sensitive and empathetic sound work. My background in writing narrative driven albums is what draws lots of clients in, as my own work is very filmic in nature. My approach to authentic worldly instrumentation and production opens up possibilities for my clients they may not have considered and it's that dedication to honest affecting scores that touches those I work with.
