John Siket on SoundBetter

Hello: My name is John Siket. I've been recording, mixing and producing music for over 29 years. I bet that you've already heard my work! I can also bring a high-quality remote recording rig to your rehearsal space or other cool sounding room of your choice! I have access to very high quality recording equipment, microphones and studios.

I am available for hire to mix, record, produce, and/or co-produce. My studio is well-equipped, but I also travel. I recorded and mixed a Grammy-nominated track in 1999 ("First Tube" by Phish). I have several gold and platinum record awards: Dave Matthews Band "Crash" (7x platinum), Vertical Horizon "Everything You Want" (2x platinum), M2M "Shades of Purple" (5x platinum), You Am I "Hi Fi Way" (Australian gold), Phish "Billy Breathes" (gold), and Soul Asylum "Let Your Dim Light Shine" (platinum). Please see my AllMusic profile for more credits.

Also, I work with a Berklee graduate that programs drums, synths and sings.

John did a great job on my project. As we go way back, I was surprised and delighted to find him on SoundBetter. He's a delightful human being as well as a legendary audio engineer. We had a wonderful time working together -- he's got great ears, very musically attuned, highly skilled, and super-dedicated to the work at hand. He will not rest until the best result is obtained. You can't do better for your investment.

John Siket is a living Legend. I really love the job that he did on my EP.
He helped me to shape the sound of my tracks in a very special way and I'm very very happy with the results. If you want someone with a lot experience, but fresh and updated at the same time this is the guy you should hire.
    Thank you John.

Over the years, John has provided me with expert consultations, feedback, and direction. I also had the privilege of his mentorship while studying Audio Engineering & Music Production at SAE many years ago. He's a true music lover who has mastered the art of record making.

His ability to make artists comfortable, his attention to detail, and his humor combined with his love of creating great tracks is infectious! Bravo, John!

    Excellent and informative

Interview with John Siket

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I started out as an intern at Bearsville Studios in the summer of 1986. What a great place!! It was located on 100 acres of fields and forests in upstate New York--right outside of Woodstock. I then went to Water Music Recorders in Hoboken, NJ. There, I really learned how to engineer records. I worked with a lot of great artists thru the 28 years of doing this professionally. I really owe them a debt of gratitude. Thank-you.
