Amazing and brilliant producer!
I have worked with Thomas as a drummer and as a producer and songwriter. We have recently reconnected and created new material. I am
completely blown away. His productions are gorgeous and well thought out with lots of ear candy! I honestly cant say enough. I feel
Blessed to have reconnected after many years! Anyone is lucky to get to work with this amazingly talented man! Plus, he’s funny:)Thomas is an incredible producer and songwriter. He works with my wife, Sean Wiggins, and their collaborations are all truly special songs!!
Thomas and I go back a long way. I've mixed records for him and also been in writing sessions with him. He brings a great vibe and passion to any project he's involved with. His work ethic is as good as it comes and his bedside manner as a producer inspires and brings out fantastic performances from artists and musicians alike.
I have had the pleasure of working with Thomas Gallmeier for 14 years now. It’s always a wonderful experience being in the studio with Thomas as he’s multi talented and able to song write, record, produce mix and engineer and can even play amazing live drums. I love how he listens and is able to capture what I want to say musically. The process from the start to the end of a song is fun and quick. I look forward to writing new music with Thomas soon!
You’re in great hands with Thomas!“Thomas Gallmeier is a fantastic drummer. His time is steady and his groove is deep. I worked with Thomas on a number of projects and it has always been a pleasure to be in the studio with him or share a stage with him. “
Interview with Thomas Gallmeier
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Wrote several songs with Glen Ballard. I was vocal engineer on a David Garrett album (Decca). I had two label releases this year, 2025, under my Mot & Krid moniker. The Girl From Ipanema/Progressive Vibes Music (Spain) & Berlin/Psyfeature Label Group (Switzerland).
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on a jingle for big US life insurance company.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes indeed. Stephen Thomas Sims is a top singer, songwriter and vocal producer/arranger. I have worked with him on numerous occasions and can only highly recommend him.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Use whatever works best for you. In my case I switched from analog to digital. Still have some analog outboard gear. Technology is so advanced now that if done well, the human ear can no longer hear the difference between analog and digital.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always give 100%.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Music. I love music.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Every client is different so I really haven't heard a common thread.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Not sure there are any misconceptions about what I do. I do music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Have you listened to my work and do you like what I do and feel confident I will meet your expectations.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: This is about sound and production. Listen to my/provider's audio samples and make sure, you love what you hear. Because most likely that's what you'll get from provider you hire. Put everything in writing by communicating via email. This way you'll have a written record of everything you agree to and asked for.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Recording device, drums, piano, mic and generator. All you need to record a song.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started as a free lance drummer. Everything I have and know, has been build on my work as a drummer. I worked as a professional drummer for 22 years and have been producing and writing for 17 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I try to convey emotions. Music has to move you.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I love working with singers. Up and coming and established. I quite like some of Leo Stannard's work. I did a cover song with Chris Pierce, so I'd love to collaborate on an original tune with Chris in the future.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Usually less is more.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, R&B, Rock, Indie, EDM.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Drums, songwriting, producing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Musicianship, years of experience playing, writing and producing music and the ability to bring in great additional players if needed.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Nothing is typical as it all depends on each individual project and my clients wishes and demands.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I am Mac Pro based with Universal Audio hardware and software/plug-ins. That allows me to have access to all the vintage compressors, consoles and reverbs. Plus some select additional keyboard software instruments. Most audio recording will go through my mic selection and UA 6176 preamp/compressor and/or UA console input set up.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I find inspiration and lessons in everything I hear. There would be too many people to list. In addition that list is constantly evolving. It used to be that music could only be professionally produced in million dollar studio facilities. For the past few decades home studios have caught up with the "in the box" technology getting better and better.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Full song production including recording and mixing of instruments and vocals. Songwriting.
