A: That it's easy and anyone can call him or herself an engineer.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: since 1982
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an acoustically balanced mixing room in my home. I run ProTools or Studio One utilizing three Universal Audio Apollos with an M1 Mac.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Recorded and Mixed Danny Gatton's "88 Elmira Street" for Elektra.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Mixing Natalie Merchant live.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Because the real world is analog and because digital is finally getting pretty good.

A: How are you doing?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: You're in good hands and you're gonna like what I can do.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Knife, Lighter, Helicopter, Boat, and an SM57

A: Mozart - because he was otherworldly brilliant

A: Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

A: Everything I've got - but mainly - good taste backed by a solid understanding of how this all works.
