  8. A: That it's easy and anyone can call him or herself an engineer.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: since 1982

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: I have an acoustically balanced mixing room in my home. I run ProTools or Studio One utilizing three Universal Audio Apollos with an M1 Mac.

  13. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  14. A: Recorded and Mixed Danny Gatton's "88 Elmira Street" for Elektra.

  15. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  16. A: Mixing Natalie Merchant live.

  17. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  18. A: Both. Because the real world is analog and because digital is finally getting pretty good.

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: You're in good hands and you're gonna like what I can do.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: Knife, Lighter, Helicopter, Boat, and an SM57

  26. A: solid

  28. A: Mozart - because he was otherworldly brilliant

  30. A: Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

  36. A: Everything I've got - but mainly - good taste backed by a solid understanding of how this all works.
