Shamel is a Grammy Award Winning Engineer from Brooklyn, NY and built a name for himself as one of New York’s more in-demand freelance engineers, working with artists like Pattie Labelle, Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Justin Love, Busta Rhymes and many others.

Freelance Recording Engineer – Started as an Assistant Engineer at Quad Studio NYC. Became an apprentice of Grammy Award winning Mix Engineer Tommy Uzzo at Mirror Image Recorders. Toured with Busta Rhymes as his personal engineer. Technology Installer for Monster Media.Assistant Mastering Engineer for Audible Inc./ Amazon. Currently, he is the Recording Engineer for MBK Entertainment and Oz Studios.

Shamel has also established his company; Hughes Media Group,LLC which specializes in audio services for multimedia applications. He is now into developing his company to brand and market new businesses, innovative arts and educational programs.

    Sha is a wizard with implementing his skill and experience in any project thrown his way. Everytime we've collaborated on a track I find it to be incredibly smooth, influential, and above all a good time.   24. A: SSL Duality SE 24 Input Analog Console with Apple Logic Pro Studio and Avid Digidesign HD3. Augspurger Custom Main Monitors and a wide range of outboard gear.

  25. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  26. A: I'm inspire of the creators of the unique sounds that we hear or haven't as of yet. Producers and engineers alike mainly.

  27. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  28. A: I record tons of vocals and lots of live instruments. The job can include cleaning up sessions to remix and producing songs. Some artists hire me for solid projects; start to end. Other may use my services for the polish sound they can not create with their own resources. New artists love to work with me because I assist with creating their sound as an artist.
