Interview with ollerrrr

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Not for now, but as I use the platform, I'm sure it will.

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: Usually this question is always linked to what exactly I do, I always explain every detail of my work.

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: What kind of music defines you?

  7. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  8. A: This song that I leave as an example here on the "Sexy R&B" platform is called Anfetamina, one of the productions I'm most proud of because I participated from scratch, from composition and production to the visual concept.

  9. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  10. A: I have a label for Trap, Hip Hop and variants called The Rocket. I work as a BeatMaker Producer in a production company. And I have my studio where I record some artists that I believe in their potential. besides, of course, services through the SoudBetter platform.

  11. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  12. A: Hybrid, whenever I record instruments in the studio I use analog peripherals, but for the creation of a beat I love digital synthesizers, there are many timbres and pressets that are good to start an idea. In mixing, if I have the opportunity, I always finish on an analog console, but I always start with digital.

  13. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  14. A: Quality is something I don't give up, I always give my best in a project, every detail matters to the final result.

  15. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  16. A: I like the creative side in general. whether in the arrangement of a sound, in the songwriter, in the mixing...

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: Here in Brazil I always have to explain from scratch what I do. Most of the clients I get are first-time artists, where consequently they need to know what my work is.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Just be yourself. I'm here as a friend who shows you a way through this giant forest that is music

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: I've been through some independent studios and record labels. The most recent is at the Midas label located in São Paulo, Brazil; Where I worked as an engineer for 1 year and a half.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I work as a producer since I graduated in music production in early 2018.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: The basis of my style is creativity, I always seek to explore new and different timbres and rhythms

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: If it's for musical affinity: Tyler The Creator, if it's for discovering how the artist's mind works: Travis Scott.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Of Course! Never stop studying what you do, always seek to evolve step by step, whether in composition, production, or in any area of music. And most importantly, ALWAYS PUT WHAT YOU STUDY INTO PRACTICE.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Most of the songs I make these days are variants of Hip Hop, R&B and Latin Music.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Interpret and apply what the artist really needs, but if you're talking about something more tangible, I have several specialization courses in mixing, and music courses that make me have a huge ease in arranging songs.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Something different, whether in some super processed instrument, or in sound design in the arrangement. I really like to create samples instead of using what already exists. but I think the most important of all, I always bring something new that the song can stand out from what is "ordinary"

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: First i like to understand what the artist need. As soon as we define the concept of the project, I make a slight study of what was defined, then we start to practice, where the step by step is very similar for everyone, arrangement, recording, editing, mixing and mastering. But this can vary depending on whether the artist also wants some help with the composition, or if he needs something specific.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work in partnership with several studios with SSL and Neve preamp to record. In my personal space that I use to mix and create I work with Adam Audio A7X monitors.
