Caleb Stevens on SoundBetter

My goal is to take your recordings and turn them into emotion-filled, powerful mixes that can't help but put a smile on your face. I understand what a song needs to catch the listener's attention and have a lasting impact. I work with everyone from established artists to brand-new independent artists - there's no project too big or too small!

My name is Caleb Stevens, and I am a mix engineer, recording engineer, and producer based out of Nashville, TN. My goal is to understand your vision, polishing your creation to become the end product you always had in mind. Every song is unique and should be treated as such, serving the music and enhancing the emotion every step of the way.

I strongly believe that every step of the recording process should be an extension of the artist and the mood/vibe the artist intended the song to have. It's important for me to really understand your music, what the songs mean to you, the emotion you're trying to convey, the mood of the project, and your overall vision before we begin to work together.

If you like what I do, just hit "Contact Caleb Stevens" to talk about your project and see if we're a good fit to work with each other.

I'll work closely with you, provide clear and easy communication, and work in a timely manner, all while providing you with professional, polished mixes that you'll be proud of.

  4. A: The music industry is filled with talented individuals who create very inspiring work. A few individuals that inspire me are Andy Wallace, Bill Schnee, Manny Marroquin, Chris Lord-Alge, and Michael Brauer.

  5. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  6. A: I create powerful, radio-ready mixes that enhances the emotion the artist is portraying. In addition to mixing, I also do a fair amount of recording and producing, and I can put together a team of session players and programmers to bring your song ideas to life.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: My mixes tend to be punchy, warm, full, and exciting. While my approach varies slightly depending on the song and genre, I always try my best to bring out the emotion of the music and help the song better connect with its listeners.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I work mainly out of my mixing room, where I run a Pro Tools system through Universal Audio interfaces. I also have a separate studio location for tracking anything from a full band album to singer-songwriter singles. At the tracking studio, there is a wide variety of mics (Neumann, Royer, Shure, etc.) as well as a massive drum closet, several amps, and much more.
