  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Yes, he goes by the name of Marc Era: https://soundbetter.com/profiles/342553-marcthisera

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I'm currently working on a bunch of instrumentals to put on my upcoming album, which will be released very soon.

  5. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  6. A: Not too long ago I worked on a project (film) where I had full control of what I wanted to create. I film scored, directed, and edited the entire project.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both. Analog audio takes the cake when it comes to bandwidth as it is considered unlimited, which means it can be moved to higher resolutions without compromising quality, whereas digital recording involves limiting and giving the audio recording a fixed bandwidth.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: That I can make anything sound good; from vocals to instrumentals.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: I'd basically advise them to describe the vibe they want their mix to be.

  13. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  14. A: UAD audio interface, My laptop, My mic, cables and a mic preamp.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I've been doing this for 8 years now. Since a little kid, I was always interested in the technical side of music and so for the past few years, I've really dedicated myself to learning how things function.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: Different but unique. It has a lot of characteristics but what it can create expands constantly

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: I'd like to work with Kendrick Lamar because I feel that he's more than an artist who just does music.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: If you close your eyes and listen to your mix, you can concentrate and mentally focus better on what you have created.

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: Mostly hip-hop but it depends on my mood. Sometimes I even make reggae or lo-fi chillhop music.

  25. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  26. A: Mixing.

  27. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  28. A: I bring that professional sound, ready to play anywhere.

  29. Q: What's your typical work process?

  30. A: When it comes to vocal what I usually do is I start off subtractive EQing the vocals before I do any compression.

  31. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  32. A: I have an UAD Apollo and Rupert Neve Design Mic Preamp that runs through it. Besides that I have all Soundtoys, UAD & Waves plugins.

  33. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  34. A: Catching Flies, Eestbound, Kendrick Lamar, Mobb Deep, Sean Leon & Wizkid.

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
