Interview with Terrance Green
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes, i recommend a good friend of mine called Chando. I've learned a lot from him actually while we worked together on different projects over the years. https://soundbetter.com/profiles/369335-chando-held
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A Razor Laptop, FL Studio, Apollo Solo Interface, Audeze Headphones and a MIDI Keyboard.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been playing the piano since I was 9 years old. Picked up FL Studio 7 when I was 14, that's when I started producing music as a hobby. Ever since then I've been doing these 'till today.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: For any other producer or engineer out there, while we are recording or producing something, always be frank and honest with the artist if something sounds bad or good while also giving room for the artist to tell me what he/she likes/prefer. For me, the artist must always have the last word, it's not my project that's going out there publicly, it's our project.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: It varies a lot, sometimes I don't even focus on a specific genre, I love to create and stand out by keep creating the most creative instrumentals.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I always ensure to go into the smallest detail of the song to enhance or repair what should be done in order for the track to sound at his best in the final mastering stage while also carefully listening what the artist wants.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Average delivery time for a Mixed/Mastered 2-track or full session is always in the window of 14 days. Client can always request a earlier delivery to meet a certain deadline.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I think Hit-Boy, The Alchemist and Pharrell are the greatest producers in Hip Hop I look up too. R&B should be Miles and Bruno Mars, Hitmaka and some more cats.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do a lot of vocal recording sessions, create beat/instrumentals from scratch with the client in the studio or i upload instrumentals on my website.
