Shonari on SoundBetter

My name is Shonari and I am a singer/songwriter in Northern Virginia with an in-home studio. I'm constantly looking for producers to work with, but I'm also looking to enhance other people's work. I have a full mezzo range with a strong belt. I'm currently taking singing lessons to perfect my craft and I've been singing since I was 5 years old.

Interview with Shonari

  1. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  2. A: Be specific and ask questions. I want to try my best to make the best song for you.

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I'd love to work with Jacob Banks because he is an amazing writer and his voice sounds like the rocks are singing to you.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: I usually work on pop music.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: My strongest skill is connecting to lyrics. Connection really brings out the harmony of the vocals, lyrics, and composition. I'm also really good at belting.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I'm a soulful singer. A lot of what comes out of me is heartfelt. I can also adapt a really bluesy quality to my voice that can make songs sound fun and old school club-like. Imagine a jazz bar.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: I have an in-home studio in my room. Two microphones, a laptop, and an interface. My room is my sanctuary and studio. I have a lot of purple everywhere to inspire creativity, regality, and centeredness.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: I'm musically inspired by people like Jacob Banks and Alessia Cara. I love well-written lyrics and simple but powerful melodic phrasing.
