Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid as they both have their strengths and weaknesses.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To hone the mix and master until its the very best each track can be.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Bringing my creative and technical abilities to a project and making it even better.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Started as an intern at a studio in Nashville and worked my way to being a assistant before moving to Chicago to work as a lead engineer for a production company and many producers in the area. Moved back to Nashville and was recording and mixing everything from country to kids animation shows. 2011 I went full time freelance and 2016 moved to KC as everything I have been doing is done over the Web. I have been in the business for 13 years and love what I do.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't distort anything on the input stage!!!!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on pretty much anything but most of my work is pop and gospel.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening and then bringing to light the potential in a project.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My talents to craft and tune a songs sonics to the best it can be.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen!!!!!! Then find out where the direction the producer/artist wants to go and take it there.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Apple iMac built to the max, Dynaudio monitors, Sennheiser HD600 and many flavors of plugins (McDSP, fabfilter, Waves, Soundtoys).
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: A lot of mixers and artists are inspiring to me. Tony Maserati, Janek Gwizdala, Brian Tyler, Snarky Puppy, Zedd, the list can keep going.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Blending all the tracks to make a great mix and then final polish of a master. I can do both or either for any project/track.
