Whether it's reaching the finals on America's Got Talent Season 7 or it's flying to Saudi Arabia to play the world's largest harp -- it don't mean A THING if you don't have that BASS line.
It's true, I was a finalist on AGT7 w' William Close & the Earth Harp Collective. I was playing a 3-necked multi-instrument of bass/guitar/sitar that I nicknamed the "Ménage à Tar"
And, yes, I did once fly to Saudi Arabia for an 11min set. I call those "gig-cations".
Although bass wasn't my first instrument (1st = piano), it's definitely my soul instrument. I played pro through high school and college (University of North Texas) then right into 5 nights a week w' Marty & Elayne (Dresden Room).
I have such a great upright (a '96 Engelhardt) that has synthetic gut strings and steel strings -- a super even-sounding bass with great balance of low-high -- records beautifully. It's very flexible. I pull super hard when performing in a 20-piece swing band (The Big Band Alumni) and keep it cool when Diana Krall sits in at my West Hollywood lounge gig (even Sting briefly played my bass once, took her for a walk).
My electric chops are an amalgam between finger-style Music Man Stingray ska (when I was with Save Ferris) and pick-on-a-Rickenbacker wall-o'-amps mountain of sound (AL1CE, BASHROCK).
I have the perfect home recording studio. My mixture of mics, pre's, and plugs are configured so I can record the perfect tone and bass line for your project.
Look forward to working with you! Cheers!

Endorse Gordon BashExcellent upright and electric bass player and all around musician. He can do it all, engineer, mix, play bass, guitar, piano. Best editor I've ever witnessed. Live or in studio, he is the best guy to call for the job because he can do everything and he's always prepared. He very easily writes charts too, which can be very useful.
Gordon is one of the most prolific and talented producers, composers, and multi-instrumentalists I've ever had the pleasure of working with. In our time as the rhythm section for Save Ferris, I was consistently surprised by his consistency, sensitivity, taste, touch and tone. Dude's an absolute BEAST on the bass, both live and in the studio... Gordon always brings the fire, and I can't wait for the chance to play together again!
