Hey! My name is Matt and I am a professional audio engineer working out of NYC. I am available to remotely mix and master your music. No matter what the genre, I'm YOUR GUY! Here is a little bit about me and what I can offer. Music is all I have ever known. I make my living off of engineering projects and session drumming. I've been in and around the music industry my whole life, so whatever the goal for your projects is, I can help you achieve it! I give helpful tips and solicit feedback throughout the entire project. I will involve you in the engineering process. I have a deep passion for what I do and I have been told by many clients that it shows in my work. I am also not one of those engineers who will just mix and master what you send and call it a day, my only goal is your happiness. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Don't know anyone. All I can say is don't make a hasty decision. Reach out and chat with the provider, see if they are good before you hire them.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Do you think I should record that part again? My answer is usually if you have to ask the question you already know the answer lol... Ohhhh and How much would this cost, lol!!!! It's the truth tho!!
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The Greatest Showman. I was on the team that engineered the project.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: 2 EP's and 3 singles.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! Why limit yourself.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will work on your project as if it were my own. I'll never take the easy way out or lie to them. I really care about people and what I do.

A: I love music, I'm truly blessed!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That the engineer can just fix it during the mix! We are not Harry Potter lol.

A: Depends on what they need!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't just assume someone is good at this because their samples are good. There are lots of so-called "engineers" on these sites who really don't have the experience or the skill set to mix professionally. Everyone is just out for a dollar and people think this work is easy. Message the person you think you would want to work with. Ask them questions to see if they are a good fit. The mix and master are essentially their own performance. Make sure they are the right fit!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Gear is the last thing I would be worried about lol.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this my whole adult life. I started as a session/touring musician for Atlantic Records and worked my way up to owning my own studio and being a full-time engineer.

A: Really not sure

A: The most important part of a good mix and master is a good recording and a good song. You have to get it right at the source.

A: EVERYTHING lol
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I'm really easy to get along with and don't get mad easy lol. I also have a really good ear.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: 25+ years in the music industry and a deep love and passion for music. I go above and beyond for all my clients.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: hard lol...... I work all day every day pretty much.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Oh man, ALOT! I have pretty much all the major industry-standard plugins. Slate, iZotope, Softube, Waves, Plugin Alliance, Melodyne, AutoTune, etc... I also have a variety of outboard gear. Neve 1073 MIC pre/eq, Distressor Compressors, 11-76. LA-2/3A, Pultec EQ, Tape Machines, etc..... I use Logic Pro X as my main DAW.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The work ethics of the studios, engineers, producers, and artists/bands from the 60s-80s really inspired me. Everything had to be as perfect as possible back then. Editing wasn't really a thing. They all took so much pride in what they did. I feel that's lacking today.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically mixing and mastering but also recording and editing.

I offer unlimited revisions however it's rare that more than 1 or 2 are needed. My typical turnaround is 14 - 21 days most of the time. Only minor light editing is included with the regular price.
