Interview with Nat MT
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: - Analog: can color everything - Digital: you can do whatever you want with your music. Add tracks. Create new sounds and instruments. There is cleaner processing. You can now emulate the analog sound.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: - Ghostemane: he has reinvented trap and merged it with trash, besides that the lyrics are heavy and his songs have a lot of production on top. He always records in the best studios and at his home.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Feel the song like a fan.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: - Rock - Punk - Instrumental
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: - RX - Musical environments (ambience recreation and incidental music)
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Power and vibe (everything feels like one piece)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Home studio: - Logic Pro X - Pro Tools Ultimate (standard) - Harrison Mixbus 5 - Shure SRH840 - Waves postproduction plugins - iZotope Elements
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: - Peter Gundry - Greg Pruciato - Ghostemane
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: - Recording in Colombia - Corrective editing - Musical mixing - Audio Postproduction for short videos
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Not a DJ or musician. I don't mix music that has already been created, but rather I create new music or improve the sound of something that is being created.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: - What do you want to achieve with your music? - who will listen to your music? - What artists inspired you to create music? - Are you planning to add music to a video or audiovisual project? - What do you want to record and what do you want to sound more?
