I love music and have been creating songs and helping others with theirs for the past 20 years, whether as a producer, arranger, or session musician. Pop/Folk/Rock is my wheelhouse, while Latin groove is in my DNA.
I offer my service as a producer, arranger, keyboardist, and singer for your projects. Listen to the demo reel, and if you like it leave me a message and we will see what I can contribute to your project.

Alfred’s track is one of the best I’ve worked on through SoundBetter. Good production, good song, good direction. He even provided sheet music with my parts notated! This is how I like to do it.
Mi primer disco tuve el
Honor de hacerlo con este gran productor, y realmente estoy muy orgullosa y satisfecha con el gran sonido que logró.
Sin duda alguna Alfred Gómez es un gran profesional.Working with Alfred gave a real impulse to my artistic path. His sensitivity and expertise both as a musician/arranger and as producer took my songs to a greater level that made me perceive more creative possibilities! He added a sense of elegance, grove and richness to my sound. Grateful for ever!
Alfred is an amazing songwriter and producer, Loves to get a great sound on drums and has great ears for grooves also!!! It’s always a pleasure (and is very important in the Bussiness) to hang out with him!!!
One of the best arrangers I know. A lot of artistic sensitivity, immense criteria when it comes to contributing ideas, a great singer and composer.
Alfre Gómez Jr. not only produced one of my favorite songs to date. He knew how to read me and bring my sound to life. He knew how to interpret my feelings, chords and melody to make them sound pure and clean but deep and meaningful. Professional, humane and authentic.
Great producer. Always has a clear concept in mind, but is also open to ideas, and always puts the artists vision first.
His talent is extraordinary as a songwriter as well as a producer and performer.
Loved working with Alfred.Gran productor. Siempre con un concepto claro en mente, pero también abierto a otras ideas, y siempre poniendo la visión del artista por encima de todo.
Su talento es extraordinario; como compositor y asimismo como productor e instrumentista.
Me encantó trabajar con Alfred. One of the producers who transmits the most expressiveness in each of his works. Alfred's music is simply tangible.
Interview with Alfred Gómez Jr.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We will make the best possible album or song at this point in your career. I hope better ones come later, but right now, this will be your best music.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started making music in a corner of my room, this at the end of the nineties, on the way I met other musicians who also did the same, we were the weird kids in the classroom, on the block and in the city, but 20 years have passed and we are best friends, we keep making music and collaborating.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Beware of things that are recorded neglecting the details because they are supposedly only temporary, "for now" tends to be forever. Always play with the intention that this is the final take, so give it all you got.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen, try to play along with it until I get familiar with the structure or until I make a structure if it's out of nothing, then I stop and then I listen again until I like it, dislike it or it's ready.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I recently made an album for a folk singer from Colorado, he was retired from music, a little rusty, but he had good songs and the best spirit to work with, it was a real pleasure, the album sounds great and he is happy. That's it...
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on a new EP, soon to be release, in the news section of my profile I left a blog with a review of how it was done along with two songs included. Check it out
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I would like to recommend two people, both sound engineers with whom I have had the pleasure of working. Ed Lopez and Nick Dawes
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both of course, the well round sound that analog equipment provides and the ease to make edits on digital ones. The best of both worlds.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Short answer, I love music. Contributing to society from the world of the arts seems to me the most noble and useful use of my time.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Do you think we can win a grammy with this? to which I reply, focus.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I make people famous
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: How are you, how do you take your coffee? Tell me about your project to see how I can help.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen carefully to the music, judge by the quality of the work not by the amount of followers on social media.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Acoustic Piano, Shure SM7, Macbook, Interface and Reason. I'll make a record with that.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work on a Robi Draco Rosa album, I think he is great, I feel like there is other music that I would like to hear in his voice but that he hasn't done yet. However, he has done other incredible things, no doubt.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop / Rock / Soul... mostly I work with singer-songwriters like myself.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think I have a very good sense of rhythm and that helps me with the phrasing either singing or playing is always locked with the groove
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Sensitivity and groove
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: At home I have pianos most of all, some controllers and emulators.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: There are many but among my favorites are Juan Luis Guerra, Daniel Lanoise and Steve Jordan.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Project management, I am in charge of the production and arrangement of the songs, as well as selecting the repertoire with the artist, contacting those who I consider the most optimal talents so that both musicians and engineers participate in the project, then creating, coordinating and monitor the entire process until we have a final product to distribute.
