Session Strings and Vocals

I arrange, perform and record bowed strings - from solo violin line to full string orchestra - and lead/backing vocals in my studio here in Stratford upon Avon. I'm equally happy reading from a score or improvising/developing a full string section for your track in collaboration with you. Classically trained in violin, viola and 'cello.

I know I'm biased, but nothing beats real strings on a track! With over 20 years recording experience in studios big and small, appearing on hundreds of tracks, from film scores to ska, and now having a home studio, I'm here to help sprinkle that little bit of string magic onto your music.
What do I do? Well, I multitrack, and can either work from a reduced or full score which you send me, or I can duplicate existing synth string parts using my range of violins, violas and 'cellos to create everything from a full, rich string orchestra, to a single violin line. Or you can send me a track and I'll send you a fully worked up set of improvised stems which you can play around with! I can do the same for backing vocals and also can provide lead vocals if my voice fits what you're looking for. I'm used to collaborating with clients and am happy to chat online as we work together.
I have performed live for 30 years, both as a vocalist (early days, classical and jazz, latterly folk and more as a singer songwriter) and as an instrumentalist, again starting as a classical player with WSO and LFO and moving onto folk and jazz. I play in numerous bands (The Sandy Denny Project, TRADarrr, IOTA etc) and have appeared as a guest with the likes of Peter Knight, Jerry Donahue, Phil Beer, Chris While and Julie Matthews, and have played festivals across the UK and internationally.
