Are you in need of a drummer? Let me help you! I program AUTHENTIC sounding drum parts for Indie, Rock, Pop & Metal. I have 10+ years drumming experience, over 1 million Spotify streams and have had tracks aired on BBC Radio. My beats are fat, polished and won't break the bank. Message me - you'll be glad you did!

• A large variety of drum kits
• Ghost notes, flams and other drum rudiments
• Musical drum beats and fills, based on many years of drumming experience
• Separated stems, mono or stereo, raw or processed, MIDI files and more. Tell me how you want your files and I'll sort it.
• Mixed and mastered as part of the cost

Send me your track, both with and without drums. Tell me what artists/bands/drummers you like, how you want the drums to sound etc. If you're a drum nerd we can delve into the fine details. If you know nothing about drums, just tell me what music you're into and we'll go from there.

I'll create the first draft and send it to you. If you like it, I'll carry on refining, udpating you with drafts until the final drum take is complete. During any of these stages you can request changes: Kit sound, beat choice, fills, dynamics etc.

I'll bounce down the track to your specifications. I can provide separated drum stems in the same way an acoustic drum kit is recorded (kick, snare, HH, toms, overheads and room) as well as individual crash and ride cymbals. Alternatively I can bounce the drums as 1 audio file.

Whatever you need, I'm confident you'll come away satisfied. Give me a message and let's get to work!

Interview with Matthew Carter

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I've spent a lot of time working with the artist behind 'Charity Shop Kids'. We have a long musical history and can bounce ideas off of one another very well. The album 'An Introduction' was a very special record as it was the first full length album that we worked on together. All the drums are programmed by myself, and I'm very proud of the way they sound on the tracks.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I will put in 110% effort for you. This means I will ask plenty of questions at the start of our project to ensure I understand exactly what you want. I'll also send you multiple drafts throughout the process so that you can ask for something to be changed at any point.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Programming drums has such an element of freedom to it. I can change anything I want - ANYTHING! This means that no matter what stage of the project I'm at with a client, they can ask for anything to be amended, and it's simple to do. I love it.

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: That programmed drums will sound fake, stiff or just plain bad. They really don't. In most situations, they sound better than if you tried to record yourself. Technology has come a long way, and programmed drums are a brilliant example of this progression.

  9. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  10. A: I'm often asked to create a drum part for songwriters with original songs. If they have good drumming knowledge, they'll provide specific instructions for what they're after, or, if they little to no experience with drums, they'll suggest bands or tracks that they like the sound of. I can then take over and craft some beats to match their criteria. It's a very fun experience, and most of my clients are very happy or excited after hearing the first draft.
