I'm a Swedish Audio Engineer, Songwriter and Music Producer living in Stockholm. I've been recording, mixing and mastering songs for over ten years and been involved in music for over fifteen years. I work with bands and songwriters to take their songs to the next level.

I help songwriters and artists create market ready tracks from pre-production all the way to final product. Already have a recorded song or album but don't know how to make it sound professional and radio ready? I'll mix your songs to modern standards with great care for genre and feeling.

PRODUCTION:
The process is easy and efficient. After discussing your project and we've locked in your vision, you can send me any files necessary and I'll get to work. Every project is different and the turnaround time is dependent on the project scope. The final step is making revisions to make sure you get exactly what you want.

MIXING & MASTERING:
Allow me to mix your songs and I will treat them as if they were my own, giving them the time and attention needed to get the best results possible. You send me the multi-tracks in WAV or AIFF files, clearly named and without audio clipping. The audio must be bounced from the start point of your song (bar 1, beat 1.) The turnaround time should not be longer than a week but it varies with the amount of editing required.

Interview with Axel Liljas

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mainly use a pair of genelec monitors for listening. A Avantone CV-12 tube microphone and a Golden Age Pre-73 MKIII preamp and Manley VOXBOX for recording. As well as a Martin acoustic, a Fender Telecaster and a Nord Electro 5.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My MacBook, headphones, a microphone, my acoustic guitar and a soundcard. That's all you need really! Oh, and I hope there's wifi and electricity on the island or I'd have to make a song real quick before the battery dies.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: The artist or band contact me by filling out the project planner at my website or sending me an email and we’ll talk about the project. As soon as I receive all the files necessary, I’ll get to work either producing, mixing or mastering. I’ll then send the finished song and offer a couple of revisions to make sure the client is satisfied!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My normal workload consists of taking an artist's demo and turning it into something more presentable and modern. I produce, mix and master songs to make them able to compete on Spotify and other services in today's tough climate.
