I’m a string musician and vocalist trained in multiple styles.
On the fiddle, I trained with French Canadian and Cape Breton fiddlers. Voice, I’ve done jazz, big band, soul and r&b. Viola, I’ve done Celtic, gypsy, Balkan and Scandinavian.
I have a pretty keen ear. Basically, you play something and I can figure it out after hearing it. I love experimenting with new genres and styles when I can. I’m open to any styles you have.
My favourite collabs I’ve done were always the weird ones. Things like laying a rap track on a French Canadian waltz, some thick dubstep beats over a klezmer fiddle tune, played Cape Breton jigs alongside a live DJ and sung a couple Frank Sinatra tunes in full crooner style with a heavy metal guitarist at Christmas.
