Interview with JORGE GALIZIA
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: both of them.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: every session musician has to work for the song, that's the strength an artist has to look for. if it's me, I appreciate the opportunity and trust.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I am a rock guitarist who over time I have become a chameleon thanks to the fact that I love to listen and play a lot of music there that my sound will always be highly influenced by rock, pop and guitars within that style, no matter how much the musical context be another.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Whenever I record I listen to my work in context, I try to put my guitars at the volume I imagine of the song, if I understand them, they are ok, if the audio does not differ then I look for other sound options and ideas
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: rock, pop, folk, world music
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: personality
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: my work process begins by listening to the song and if there is a work reference much better. If there are no scores I start recording ideas where I think I can achieve the personality of the song, when I think I am already at a good recording point I send the artist to check that everything I propose is all right, if something needs to be modified I do it with the artist via online and then I send the tracks already ready to add them to the project of each song
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is specially set up for my work as a guitarist and producer. I have an apollo twin with all the pre unison emulators, sumo via adat an apogee ensemble and some pre series 500 ovieaudio mpa2. I record many guitars with bogner amps with a 1x12 snare and an orange 2x12 snare with vintage 30, the rest of the guitars I record with Kemper.
