Endorse Martin KanoGreat mix and master ! definitaly a recommend !
Martín is a great music producer. We were able to put together an album of 6 incredible songs. The result was vastly better than we expected.
I recommend Martín for any musical project, since he is very versatile and masters various styles.
A great professional and a very kind person, his sound in the mix and master is what you are looking for for first-class productions. Besides being a great producer, highly recommended.
I strongly recommend Martin for Producing, mixing and mastering sevices! This guy is doopee! Beyond being such a nice guy to work with, his experience and musical skills really made the diference. I also wanted him to remix and master 3 of my songs as I didn't like the result with the first engineer that mixed it before him. The difference is like night and day! You won't regret!
Interview with Martin Kano
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The project that I was most proud, was the one I worked with Geoff Emerick, the engineer of The Beatles. It was on his first visit to Argentina where he came to give his masterclass, we recorded and mixed a song by Alejandro Lerner, which was previously produced by me and with Charly Garcia as a special guest. It was a dream come true. I've had the honor to be the only producer in South America in working with him, RIP.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: that im a headhunter like a Factor X
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask them what their goals are with the project.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: First of all to confirm that everything you read in the profile is true, second to listen their playlist and if it is within what you are looking for and finally to have a good vibe to achieve an excellent result.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to working with artists who want to give their all and dream big.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For mixing work, I usually ask what the client is looking for, I usually ask for 2 or 3 references to know where they want to direct the audio and I get to work on it. For the musical productions that I do online, The client sends me the song that he wants me to produce, it can be recorded only the voice, or with some instrument. He also sends me one or 2 references from other artists to know where he wants to take his music. Based on this, with my musical production team we make a demo to show how the song would look with our artistic vision.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is made up of fundamental pieces that shape the audio of my productions and mixes, such as the Manley 16x2 tube console. Then I have some pieces of hardware that I usually use according to the occasion, I also have a Universal Audio OCTO device with everything, absolutely all the plugins that are available.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My macbook pro, my ATH M50X, a hard drive with 10 TB of music, a midi controller and my Manley 16x2
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been in the music industry for 15 years, throughout these years I was able to work with recognized artists, but the achievements that I celebrate the most is working with independent artists who are beginning to grow.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is modern and organic, I really like to include technology in my productions as well as I like to mix it with organic instruments such as an acoustic guitar or bandoneon.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Each song you compose, do it as if it were the last one and that it depended on the before and after of your career. Surrender everything and God will do the rest.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, Urban, Worship, Rock.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have good taste, I think that if I were not a music producer I would have a restaurant, producing and mixing is like cooking a unique delicacy.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: In my mixes I bring depth, 3D sound and solid audio. In my productions I bring feeling and everything a song needs to sound on the radio and the main Spotify playlists.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Now I am producing a girl from United State named Samy who at only 13 years is about to release her first ALBUM and I am also producing an urban music an artist from Argentina who will make people talk, her name is N4hi.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is that when the song is finished we will have nothing to envy any mainstream artist.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid. The right balance is powerful.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like to see that the client has been happy and proud of the final result. I also like it a lot when I see that the song begins to grow in streaming and has good acceptance in the public.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The client can contact me to produce his music from scratch, or also if he already has something recorded, to mix and / or master.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Geoff Emerick, Sylvia Massy, Chris Lord-Alge, Michael Brauer. I was lucky enough to be able to work with them when they visited Argentina.
