Looking to add studio quality vocals or harmonies to your track? How about the perfect synth or keyboard part? And you want it fast? Oh what's good?
With twelve plus years of industry experience, I started singing and playing keys well before this became my profession. Vocal harmony has always been something i've been drawn to (it led me to my bandmates, The Shadowboxers, and our first gig as a backing band for the Indigo Girls). My love for pop writing, weird keyboards and synths came later, and certainly helped during our time collaborating on an EP with Justin Timberlake. I'm seasoned in the studio behind the mic with a powerful chest voice and a solid falsetto that blends easily. And as a synth noodler and electric piano enthusiast, the hunt for the perfect sound always brings me joy. Hit me up for leads, background vocals, keyboard parts, and any synth textures you need!

My second time working with Matt. Easy to work and the highest quality. He recorded backing vocals for me and they slotted into the mix perfectly. A total pro.

Matt is a total pro. I couldn't ask for more. 100% satisifed. I booked Matt to record a pre-chorus and chorus, single two harmonies and to create double for those harmonies. It was done in record time. Perfect tracks and easy for me to just drop into my mix. Great voice, great audio. I plan to book Matt again in a couple of weeks.

Interview with Matt Lipkins
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently finishing up two very different solo projects, the first of which I'm planning to launch in the fall of 2022.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Tony Brown is an awesome R&B and pop vocalist and writer.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Good communication is key! For me to do my best work, the more information the better. And don't be afraid to ask questions!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: When we were in the studio with Timberlake, his favorite way to add some character to a track was to add percussive elements with found objects (something he picked up from Timbaland). On one song off our 2018 "Apollo" EP, he made an entire perc track from finger drumming on a tissue box and slamming a fridge door.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Hopefully some soul and character! With over a decade of experience both in writing and recording for myself and other artists, I think my strength lies in my ability to service a project melodically and harmonically while knowing when (and when not to) incorporate my more distinct tone and timbre.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Yebba inspires me as a truly flawless vocalist. Blake Mills shows incredible taste in his production and restraint in his guitar playing. I'm also a huge fan of everything Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) does.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Topline, lead vocals, and harmonies.
