Piano Jazz & All Styles

I excel at highlighting the piano’s percussive potential along with beautiful tone: the instrument is really 88+ drums! Having studied under Sophia Rosoff (her pupils include Barry Harris, Brad Mehldau, Fred Hersch, etc.), Bruce Barth, and Barry Harris, I’ve played and recorded all over the world, solo to chamber ensemble to big band and orchestra.

Requests for Pop, Jazz, R&B, Classical, Avant Garde, and Rock are all welcome. I immersed myself in Classical piano growing up but discovered a passion for Jazz in college -- and, because of this, was called upon to rework my entire pedagogy and technique to be able to delve deeply into African and Latin rhythms ... never looked back!

I excel at session tracking just as well as live performance. Backing tracks for singers and other instrumentalists, complete re-arrangement of cover songs, improvisation, soundtrack and video game work are all exciting challenges.

My process:

* Extensive discussion with you for your timeline and vision of the project, what sound you would like (acoustically and pianistically), ideally with reference recordings
* If you would like improvisation in any part of the project, I’ll need to know exactly the genre and specific sub-genre needed (we can have in-depth discussions if needed)
* If you would like any orchestration / arrangement / re-harmonization (see my piano tribute of Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun in the samples on this profile), we will need to go through specifics of styles desired as well :)
* I’ll send you a rough take so we have an idea if adjustments are needed for Final -- we can do multiple revisions depending on project needs!
