Mokafari is the electronic music outlet for the solo work of Gustav Liljesten. Mokafari began his musical journey producing simple chiptunes but then quickly moved on to make house and DnB to everything in between.
In 2016 Mokafari teamed up with producer friend Emra to create an album in the Sri Lankan jungle. During the production of Emra & Mokafari's album, they were fusing funky breaks with punchy boom bap drums, and stacking dissonant jazz samples over fat analog synths to create a unique sounding mix.
This collaboration inspired Mokafari to use more jazz, soul, and funk samples in his own productions and blending them together with raw house beats. Since then Mokafari has carefully curated his own musical signature and honing his mixing skills to become the “master of frequencies” that he is today.
