Trombonist and transcriber

Hi, I'm a trombonist and musical odd-jobs-man from Glasgow, Scotland. I studied as a composer (at what is now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) but these days I find myself spending more time gigging and recording on the trombone, and transcribing, proofreading and engraving music for clients around the world.

I offer two main online services: remote trombone sessions, and music transcription.

I've been playing the trombone for about 20 years, and in that time I've backed some showbiz legends in the house band on a cruise ship, toured Europe with an Icelandic singer-songwriter, recorded with some critically-acclaimed artists here in Glasgow and in the last couple of years I've done over a hundred remote sessions for online clients. I have a simple, quality set-up: Rath trombone --> EV RE20 mic --> Apogee interface, in a decent-sized, acoustically-treated room. I regularly work with trumpet and sax colleagues as a section, and I'm happy to help with any arranging required - just ask!

I also specialise in producing detailed, neat, accurate sheet music for your projects - transcribed from audio, MIDI, hand-scribbled sketches, or just vague notions. This can be a simple lead sheet with guitar chords, a piano transcription, or notating every note of every instrument in a full album. As a composition graduate, I've a good (and highly-trained) ear, and I've spent an unhealthy amount of time on Sibelius software, so I can produce great results quickly.
