Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My favourite project I've worked on was MORE THAN LIFE by BLVRS. This project was finished back in 2022 but I'm still very proud that I wrote the main part of the chorus hook, and it's been one of my most successful songs so far.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Pursuing my duo BLVRS and releasing a lot of music there. I'm also working on a full website for my services making it easier than ever to work with me
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Sajan Nuriyal
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What's your rate? In response to that I usually say I just need to know your budget, and then I will be able to tell if what you're asking is realistic for how much you're willing to spend.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I'm not as good because I don't have as many big credits.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are some of your favorite artists or styles, and what do you look for in a producer or mix engineer?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure that you are ready to work with a producer, and don't over-commit yourself to a project that you don't have the time or finances to complete. There's nothing worse than having spent a bunch of money on the best song ever and not being able to finish it or having it take 2 years before you can even think about putting it out.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My dad has always mixed music and stuff and he plays drums too. I also got piano lessons early on which has given me an understanding of music. I began messing around on an old version of Logic Pro x and made some garbage music. Then I got Reason 10. I learned on there for about 2 years and then things began to take off. I got second place in Matthew Parker's Remix contest and joined his community of awesome musicians, producers, and singers. Since then I've graduated from college with a certificate in audio engineering and music production, and am working for artists and producers helping them get the best quality from their songs as possible.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Bright and energetic. I love using a mix of real and electronic elements in my music.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd love to work with GRAHAM or John Michael Howell. I love their writing and melodies, and I'm inspired by how long they've stayed independent as artists.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'll typically meet with a client to establish the vision, create a demo, get feedback on the demo, and then create the final production. Once we get to the final I offer revisions at each "stage" (production, mixing, mastering, etc)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a full on studio in my basement with 16 Input chanells through a QU 16 board, and electronic drumkit, a mini novation keyboard w. drumpads and a full 88 key keyboard. I also have krk rokit 5s with a sub. I also have access to a fully-fledged studio at my college even after I've completed the program
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Asher Postman really inspires me with his clean production. I am also inspired by Valley, and Porter Robinson currently.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am most often doing production for clients
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. So much more flexability
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: High-quality sound.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The freedom to be creative
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A laptop with Reason 12 installed. A Focusrite interface. My guitar with a cable. A mic. And my midi keyboard.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make sure you're using silence to your advantage in your music!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Christian, pop, and EDM
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Producing
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creavity, and professional quality
