Having worked with Chris on multiple tracks I can tell you he is a true professional. He has a creative edge and a total producer mindset. He can turn something from just an idea/demo into a piece of art. Also, an epic guitar player. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a pro to take your music to the next level on any electronic genre.

Worked with Chris on my first EP release ever last year. He was incredibly helpful/insightful on everything that comes with recording an EP to releasing an EP. He's patient with understanding what I wanted my songs to be at a base level and built them from the ground up. Very knowledgeable about producing. Genuinely passionate about music/producing. Definitely working with him again.

Working with Chris wasn’t like working at all. Awesome producer and writer! Haven’t had many producers I’ve worked with that was able to take the simplest ideas and turn them into full blown tracks. He doesn’t leave the studio until it’s finished and undersold his work, definitely will be working with him again soon. Thanks Chris!

Interview with Chris Wright

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: digital

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: Question - what kind of bear is best? That's a ridiculous question. Black bear.

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: I have a modern and chill style. I move between genres a lot to keep myself interested. I tend to gravitate towards more melancholy "vibey" tracks. Anything that evokes a good deal of emotion.

  7. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  8. A: just that good ole fire i suppose

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: My process starts with feeling out the artist's vision and focus on the strength of the song. I always want to make sure that the song in its simplest form can still be performed and have an impact. From there I dig into the production and focus on creating a final product that captures the artist's vision with a professional + unique sound.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: I work out of a small studio in Burbank, CA. pretty simple setup. Treated room, Adam monitoring system, UAD things... Slate digital things... all in the box... it's not that elaborate. most days I prefer producing music from my couch.

  13. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  14. A: My promise is to help you write the best song that we can write together, give you a song that holds up to your vision, and provide music that is unique and competitive.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: pop, alt-pop, hiphop, house, electronic

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Do your research. Listen to my previous work. Read the terms. If you feel like we would be a good fit working together, let's set up a time to talk about your vision and see if we have that chemistry (we'll usually both know within 5-10 minutes of talking). I love helping artists achieve their vision. If I can't do that, I will happily help you find someone who can.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I originally broke into the industry at the age of 18 as a hire-on guitar player for a band. I later became the bands full-time touring guitarist and in 2012, I joined the band as a member. I toured with them for 3 years and wrote a record. That is when I fell in love with the production process. The band eventually broke up and that's when I turned to perusing music production as a full-time gig. I have been producing music for like 8 or 9 years.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: melodies, production, arrangements, sound design.

  23. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  24. A: don't overthink it.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: The most common type of work I do is for singer-songwriters and artists who need full production tracks and co-writing. I also mix & master tracks for a number of clients.

  27. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  28. A: I get to write and make music for a living and work with incredibly talented people. It honestly doesn't feel like a job at all. It's truly a blessing.
