Markus and I work very closely together on my music. I'm a singer/songwriter and his production takes my work to another level. He's very efficient, so if you want a track done in a day, he can. He also pays attention to lyrics when he produces, and will make sure the production supports your message. A plus is that he's also wise and friendly!

  15. Review by Charlie Bryce Wallace

Markus is a great singer and producer! Fully versed in modern styles, he can create some of the most full, flourished electronic productions I've heard. We'll be working more in the near future!

Interview with Vsion

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My originals. I started releasing songs with different kinds of topics and genres. I worked on them for multiple years and 2021 is really the right time for me to present them. It serves as a profile for me as an artist and producer.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: My originals, you can check them out on my Spotify! https://open.spotify.com/artist/69z9PnG0WUWBzfPiEOdDjR?si=6E4_RfqOR3KQeyUKnPdsJA

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: YES! There are many talents on this site. Refugee (Pop Producer), Benny Steele (Mixer), Camilo Silva F Mastering (Mastering), Mix by Matt Sim (Mixer), Matthew Boda (Pop Producer)

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both, whatever it takes (with budgeting) to get the perfect sound for the client.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will never half-ass anything. I can’t guarantee that every song I produce is perfect for the client, but you can bet that I will try my best to deliver!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: A flexible schedule and it’s my passion to work in music.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: “How much?”, to which I answer “How ever much you think your song is worth.”

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: What is your goal for the song? What’s the story? What do you feel about it? Do you have a demo or raw vocals?

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: If you do decide to hire me, please be sure you’ve listened to my production and you like the sound. You should know that my best work only happens when my client trusts me 100%. Even though it’s a job, the nature of it is creative collaboration, so both the client and I need to put in full effort.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I started my producing path ever since I started studying at Berklee back in 2013. I just kept finding artists of multiple genres who wanted to work with me and refined my skills as a producer.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: “Creative”. I try to fuse different kinds of music and find the right ingredients for my clients.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: I personally love to just work with anyone who trusts me 100%. That’s because I can’t provide anyone the best if they don’t place their trust in me.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: MAKE SURE YOU FIND THE RIGHT KEY, many fantastic songs miss that 1% when the singer’s voice isn’t sitting in the most comfortable place.

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: I work best with live instruments, so in general, Pop/Rock/R&B is my forte.

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: Communicating ideas and turning them into sound.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: Reference tracks are a very big thing! I usually ask my clients to bring me at least two reference tracks for ideas. Generally, I urge my clients to have a call with me so we can really nail down the sonic idea before proceeding. After that, the song usually shapes itself.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: I usually listen to the demo a few times, then I’ll discuss ideas with my clients to get what they want sonically. I then start to score it out and depending on the budget, I will use my network to hire the right musicians to play on the track. Finally, I’ll fine-tune and mix with the vocals to deliver to my client.

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: As a producer, I usually take clients’ demos and raw vocals and arrange music complementary to it. I take into account the story and tone of the song my clients want in order to create a song that’s perfect for them.
