Rahul is the Bansuri play I've been looking for for 25 years. Super adaptable, super easy to work with, takes direction beautifully (as if he even needs it), understands the spirit of the music & puts himself genuinely right into it. A GREAT musician with an excellent tracking setup, more than anything Rahul is my favorite type of person to make music with.

Interview with Rahul Krishnan
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on my own album currently and it'll be out anytime by Midyear
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog any day! The warmth and tonal quality that it provides is no match to the digital outputs these days I believe.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I won't break your trust and will keep up with that. I'll provide you with the best output you're looking for and I won't rest unless you're satisfied with my contribution to your music.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I am able to work with some amazing talented artists across the world and I get to learn something new after every work that I do.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Mostly, my clients ask me to send a Demo Reference Track with Flute apart from the stems at delivery. I provide them that by default, even if they don't ask.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception I find is that I quote same for all works. I believe each work is different and I charge my clients accordingly. I can do smaller budget works as well as bigger ones. I try to be as flexible as possible.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I'd request to listen to the audio on which they want me to contribute. I'd prefer a clear idea about what my clients are expecting from me and what they have in their mind regarding the mood, style or type of performance. Once, this part is clear, it's very easy to proceed further.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Whatever Music style or genre you are creating, I am open to any experimental work. You can trust me with your work and I'll do everything possible to keep up with it. If you liked my demos, you're definitely going to like what I am going to bring into your Music.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook, Apogee Duet interface , AKG C414 mic, Midi Keyboard and ofcourse my Flute :D
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started my Music career 15 years ago. I did my Bachelors in Flute Performance. I have been professionally doing shows and providing Flute Sessions for over 8 years now.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as more of Freestyle as I don't stick to any particular genre or style of music. I keep exploring and every work is a new learning for me.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I am ready to work with anyone who is willing to explore my creativity. All artists I have worked with in the past had different music styles and have been from different backgrounds. One thing they all had in common was they trusted me with their work and I did my best to keep up with that.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Recording is the basic and most important part of Production. I make sure I do that clear and proper, so my clients never face any trouble with that.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I generally work for all kinds of Music. From EDM Tracks, Meditation Music, Arabic Songs, Bollywood Songs, Hollywood Themes, Romantic songs, Lullabies, Scores, Classical, Country, Pop, Hip-Hop, Reggae and the list continues...
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My clients often tell me it was this final touch that they were looking for to make the song complete and perfect. SO yeah, I can give that final touch and fill the incomplete spaces in a song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I can make your Music more soulful, special and even interesting. I can change the whole vibe and mood of the song and would give you more than what you're looking for.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen to the audios my clients send and try to understand, what they are looking for. I ask for the mood they want, if they have any tune recorded in midi for me to replicate or if they want me to compose. Once there's a clear idea, I proceed with the order.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use a Lewitt LCT440 pure & AKG C414 mic to record. The audio interface I use is Audient ID14
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: From Bollywood to Hollywood, every Music genre inspires me. A.R.Rahman, Ed Sheeran, Pritam, Marshmello, Karra, KSHMR, Alicia Keys are a few who inspire me the most.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I do is composing Flute solos, Interludes and Fillers for different songs as well as Themes. I also produce Music from scratch for the songs and deliver a radio ready Mastered output.
