Hi! My name is Dmitry Karev. I'm a professional accordion player with more than 15 years of gig and studio experience!
I will record pro quality accordion tracks for your song in any genre! If you want accordion in your track, but you don't have definite part in mind - that's not a problem, I'll compose one for you! Of course, if you have sheet music or you need me to pick something up by ear - that's completely fine as well!
For recording I use my top quality Italian accordion - Bugari Seniorfisa. Also I have different microphones to chose from for different situations!
For video recording I use a studio lights and background and multiple cameras. I can also shoot video outdoors!

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I have a lot of tracks that I recorded accordion for and I really like how they are turned out. Also I am working with famous musicians in Russia, Moscow. For example - Peter Nalitch - pretty widely famous musician that participated in Eurovision 2010. I recorded accordion in his "Utesov" album. Hard to tell what am I proud of the most. Thanks for your time!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am upgrading my studio to make it as comfortable for recording as possible. Thinking about adding stereo recording option as well.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes, there is Artyom Koryapin - he is a great professional that records full brass section.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: In my case, there is not much of digital in accordion sphere :-) There are digital accordions but they sound pretty bad, so analog (or acoustic), I guess... Speaking of studio equipment - analog has more individuality but digital is more convenient usually. Also, digital equipment is pretty great nowadays.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will like the results!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like that I can work from my studio, fully concentrated on what I do.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you record accordion for my song? I usually say "yes" :-) Talking seriously - there is no commonly asked questions about what I do usually. Maybe - can you play in Zydeco style? , etc.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Actually I didn't experienced too many misconceptions. Maybe, there is one - accordion usually associated with pretty limited genre variety (French accordion, tango, polka). But the truth is - accordion can sound great in any genre.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Usually I ask what they need in details.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Please explain what you need as detailed as possible. In case you completely trust me in choosing what to record - thats great as well!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Car, accordion, notebook, mic, Swiss army knife. If we not talking specifically about survival :-)

A: I am professional musician with more than 15 years of experience. I started to record online about two years ago,

A: Versatile

A: Bobby McFerrin is one of my favourite musicians. Working with him could be a great opportunity to learn and produce something incredible!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Record bonus material for your client when possible. This way he will have options to choose from on the mixing stage.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I have a very wide arrangement of styles which I recorded accordion in - from french musette accordion and tango to jazz and hard rock.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am professional musician and also pretty good at communicating with clients.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring accordion part most appropriate to the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on order details. I either receiving sheet music and start recording the material or if I need to make an original part, I carefully listen to the track, thinking what part will fit the best and then start to record.

A: Accordion - Bugari Seniorfisa Interface - Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen Microphones - Shure SM7b, Rode NT2a, Shure SM58, internal accordion mics For video recording I use Sony ZV-1 and IPhone 11
