Classically-trained guitarist who teaches music production at Eckerd College. I love mixes that don't sound too "photoshopped" or "facelift-ed". Services include vocals, acoustic fingerstyle, baritone acoustic guitar, electric lead guitar, mixing, and mastering.
- DAWs: Logic Pro X, Pro Tools Ultimate, & UAD Luna (I will mix in Logic unless another DAW is preferred).
- All digital "in-the-box" mixing, although I often use plug-ins that emulate analog gear. For those who really like the analog sound, I can also run the mix bus through a NEVE analog bus compressor for an extra charge.
- Mastering with iZotope Ozone (No, I don't just use the AI) & Optional outboard analog gear.
- Favorite compressor: 1176 (Silver) with the LA-2A used in parallel, SSL G compressor & Shadow Hills on busses and master.
- Favorite preamps & EQ: NEVE 1073 and API EQ
- Favorite saturator plug-in: Sonnox Oxford Inflator
- I love hot mixes with a little extra grit.
If you'd like to work with me, I mix and master everything at the "standard" sample rate of 44.1kHz, but I can mix at 96k 24-bit (CD Baby does not allow higher sample rates, so check with your distributor). As for home-recordings, do not over compress on the way in! And while I like to mix hot, make sure none of your recordings clip and allow plenty of headroom.

Erol is an extremely talented musician and singer with a great style, easy to communicate with, a real pleasure to work with.
Working with Erol Oz was a great pleasure. His talent as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, make him a fantastic person to work with in a studio session. He is able articulate well balanced mixes and masters and he upheld respect for my vision on each song. His work as the mix and mastering engineer on the four songs on my upcoming EP "Days Spent Here" made the project exactly what I wanted it to be. I would 100% recommend working with Erol Oz!
I have worked with Erol a long time. His skill level continues to improve. His attention to detail is impressive. His awareness of the overall sound concept is extremely helpful. It also helps that he is a dynamite musician.
