I'm a musician with a Masters degree from Berklee specializing in composition, orchestration, and production. I've worked extensively in film (15+ credits) and on 100+ projects with clients around the world. Collaborating with independent musicians has been the most rewarding part of my job, and I would love to be involved on your next project!
My name is Samarth Srinivasan, and I'm from Dallas, TX. I've completed a Bachelors of Music Composition from Southern Methodist University and a Masters of Music in Scoring for Film, Television, and Video Games from Berklee College of Music Valencia. After that, I moved to Mumbai, India where I have worked extensively in the various Indian film industries primarily as an orchestrator. I have also worked as a composer and collaborated with many independent musicians as a music producer, arranger, pianist, or singer. Now that I've had a few years of professional working experience, I want to collaborate with the large variety of musical talent present around the world!
My biggest strength is anything orchestral, whether it be orchestrations, arrangements, or compositions. I am also a proficient vocal/a cappella arranger. Other specializations include world music, especially Indian, and jazz. I'm a classically trained pianist and played in a jazz band throughout college, so I am also able to record piano. My technical skills are another forte, so I can help you with any audio/vocal edits, score prep, transcriptions, and even intermediate mixing and mastering. Lastly, I have experience singing with my college a cappella group and choir, so I'm available as a singer as well!

Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Think about every choice you make and be able to succinctly communicate why you are making that choice. If you can't communicate that, rethink the decision.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ask the provider what they feel like they could add. I often feel like I cannot beneficially contribute to your project, and if that's the case I will let you know.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: A.R. Rahman. He has been the most influential composer in my musical journey and has the career that is most similar to my dream career.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I try to work on as many genres as possible and add my unique touch to it, but the majority of my music has been orchestral, jazz, pop, and singer-songwriter.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have a strong theory background, and try to use it to inform and enhance many of the decisions I make on my tracks. Many of my clients turn to me because I am able to understand the feel that they are looking for and enhance it by using strong music theory fundamentals to refine the sound.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think I approach music differently from most other musicians. I tend to think more analytically than the majority of musicians I have met, so I tend to bring new perspectives and ideas to songs just because I have a different mindset.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It's important me to get to know the client well, so I can understand their vision and adapt accordingly. We'll get on a call so I understand what you're looking for and stay in constant contact throughout the process. We can do revisions as necessary and even get on Zoom or Audio Mover screenshares so you can see exactly what's going on. I'm also super flexible on work times so I should be available almost whenever!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home setup with a Macbook, audio interface, microphone, keyboard, Sennheiser HD650 headphones, and guitar.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: A.R. Rahman, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Jacob Collier, Salim-Sulaiman, Ludwig Gorranson, Coldplay, The Weeknd, Shubh Saran, Tom Misch, and many more. I like to take something from every artist I listen to!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do composition, orchestration, arrangement, music production, audio edits (vocal, melodic, time correction, etc.), piano tracking, singing, and even some intermediate mixing and mastering.
