If you have an electronic pop or rap song, I'll help you bring it to life. I produce, mix, master, and can provide songwriting help. I offer an end-to-end solution for clients and will ensure that the song in your head becomes the song we produce. I can create a song from scratch, build a beat around your lyrics, or remake your production.

I've spent the last 20 years producing and mixing songs and have toured the country as a musician and DJ. Whether your song is electronic, pop, or hip-hop, I'll make it sound great and bring your vision to life.

Interview with Sean Kongery

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: To get to know you – to see you as an artist and not a paycheck. I'll take the time to make sure I understand what you're about, what you're going for with your music, and where you'd like to take your career.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: 1. Reference tracks – What two songs would be played before and after this song in a DJ set? 2. How would you describe your sound? 3. What are your goals with this song?

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: If you're at all interested in working with me, just reach out. My rates are reasonable and it's always worth a conversation.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: Macbook, Apollo audio interface, an acoustic guitar, Sennheiser HD650 headphones, and a MIDI keyboard.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I picked up a guitar when I was 11 and was hooked. I started writing and recording songs on a 4-track Fostex tape recorder. In high school, I played in a band that got some radio play and toured locally. I recorded a few of our projects and really cut my teeth as a producer. In college, I discovered Ableton Live and began producing pop and hip-hop for local artists. I had a few songs blow up on Youtube and got an opportunity to tour nationally as a DJ for an artist I was producing for. I moved to LA and have been making music for my artist project, Sean Kongery, and for clients ever since.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: Electronic, pop, and hip-hop. My artist project is Electronic/Hip-hop and most of my client work has been electronic pop. Those are the genres I'm most comfortable with, but I'm always open to other styles.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: Musicality and taste. I play guitar, bass, drums, and piano and approach songs from a musician's point of view. I also have experience producing a wide variety of music. I've been producing and mixing songs for 20+ years and am confident that I can nail what an artist is going for.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: I typically like to have a kick-off call with clients to discuss their inspiration for the track. It helps to understand where an artist is coming from. Then, I'll start production and once I have a demo, I'll send it to the client to ensure I'm on the right track. If the artist likes demo, then I'll polish the production and make sure it's ready for the big time!

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: I typically am producing and mixing songs for clients. I specialize in electronic pop with a hip hop flair.
