Drummer & percussionist born and bred in Figueira da Foz, Portugal.
Started playing drums at the age of fifteen and later on has studied with teachers such as drummer Ronaldo Firmino (FadoMorse, Victor Castro Trio) and also studied at Atelier de Percussão (Porto) with Hugo Danin (Marta Ren, Mónica Ferraz, Gileno Santana).
Progressive rock and metal were his primary influences at the outset, recording two albums with the band GrimleT thus stepping into the main stages of festivals and concerts all over the country for the next ten years. From there-on he attended a large variety of masterclasses & workshops with musicians such as Bruno Pedroso, Ruca Rebordão, André Silva, Francisco Lima, Pancho Tarrabia, Tiago Pereira, Marcelo Magliocchi and developed interests in a wide variety of musical styles such as funk, jazz, free improvisation and experimental sound art.
Also developed interest and practice in the ancestral wind instrument didgeridoo.
He has played in several bands and projects and a vast array of genres, from pop-rock to progressive death metal, jazz, folk, world music and others.
Currently, he teaches drums in a private studio in Figueira da Foz & also online drum lessons and is active working with artists as Sérgio Lucas, session musical productions & projects, Theatre scoring and also working to release in 2017 his first solo project "Monge Azul".
