How it works:
-Send me the track on which you want the horns and let me know the BPM along with any notes you have.
-I will send you a quote.
-If you have specific ideas or melodies you can record or play them on your track.
-If not, don't worry, leave it to me and I will create my horn parts after consulting and agreeing with you- and layer them so you have plenty of options to choose from.
I am very communicative throughout the process so you will know exactly what I am doing. When I work for you, I embrace your music as if it were mine. My goal is to breathe life into your project.

I had Michel to record trumpets for my project. He was very flexible and offered his advice and experience. I received back the recordings and Michael was very open to any suggestions I had about phrasing, attacks and dynamics.
It was a pleasure to work with him and his long career playing and recording with top acts will ensure that your project will benefit from his work.

An extraordinary musician. One of a kind. Michel doesn’t just have an outstanding knowledge of his instrument, he is one of those musicians that when ever he plays it just sounds incredible. Virtuoso level.

Interview with Michel Padron

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: When it comes to recording Brass: After having had a conversation about the sound and style the client is looking for, as soon as I receive the tracks I get to work. When I have them ready, I'll send the mixed tracks so the client can appreciate how it sound instead of listening to a dry and emotionless trumpet file. I also excel in my attention to detail, always double-checking the section work to ensure it has an exceptional sound. Moreover, I offer two revisions as part of the service to ensure the clients achieve their goals. Ultimately, I deliver the files without any added effects, allowing for complete flexibility, and ensuring client satisfaction all around. When it comes to composing, arranging, or producing music for film, TV or advertising, the revisions I offer vary depending on the size and delivery date of the project. I maintain a constant line of communication with the client, I provide different options that have different textures, colours, grooves and sonorities. I work closely with the script or story board and I'm usually very good at delivering what I have been asked to deliver as much as possible. Finally, I deliver the files and make sure they are correct and to the client's satisfaction. I store the projects for a while, in case a backup is needed for some reason.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: Logically, technical inquiries pertain to the recording methodology, the client's desired sound aesthetic, and the particular musical arrangements or compositions at hand. Moreover, I frequently inquire about the client's artistic, musical, and spiritual aspirations for the final outcome. By doing so, we foster a collaborative working relationship, expedite delivery times, and expedite the attainment of a result that not only meets satisfaction but also brings us both considerable joy.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Professionals with a reputation, good reviews and a real track record behind them are what your music or your audio-visual needs. Cutting costs by hiring cheap musicians/producers/composers will always give those who listen to your work the feeling that "your swing is missing of something";-)

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: I tend to get a lot of different jobs. Whether as an instrumentalist, producer or composer, the genres I work on are quite diverse, World music, Jazz, Latin and Tropical, Funk, Hip-Hop, Soul /R&B, Reggae, Trap, Reggaeton, Tras, Techno, Afrobeat, Pop-Rock, Blues, and the list goes on. When it comes specifically to recording, producing, composing or arranging music, I can also add music for film, TV, jingles and commercials as other genres.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: The part of me that "sings it".

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: I am too much of a perfectionist sometimes

  13. Q: How would you describe your style?

  14. A: Somewhat "Chameleonic" :-)

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: Bruce Springsteen to play with him live, for his energy, for what he is and has been over the years for music and for his legacy. Stromae, to produce a song for him, I think he's super avant-garde, a great talent, I think one of the most influential artists these days.

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: When mixing, mastering and finishing a production, I always focus on the genre of music I'm working on. In 12 years of experience, I have learned that not always the most sophisticated plugins or the latest technology will give the best sound. When I record Brass, I know where to place the microphones and where in the room to record each instrument in the brass session, so I get colours and the best sound when I capture the instrument, more organically and make things easier for the final mix.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: I'm very fortunate to frequently receive various job requests that encompass my skills as a musician/composer/arranger, and producer. It would be quite challenging to answer this question by being brutally honest. I love recording trumpet , flugelhorn, and trombone lines or solos. I also greatly enjoy recording, creating, and arranging horn sections. I find immense pleasure in producing instrumental pieces either. Undoubtedly, a very difficult question to answer, hehehehehe
