Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Apollo 8 black interface, BAE 1073MP pre amp, Telefunken AR51 MK2 microphone, Slate VMS mic pre system.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm very proud of everything that I've worked on that has gotten me to where I am from Demi Lovato to EXO. However, having multiple Grammy nominations for working on the legend Charlie Wilsons albums (songwriting and vocal production) was very special. For him to praise my voice and work, and follow my demo was very humbling.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To always put my best foot forward.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love everything about the creative process. There's something magical about going in with nothing, and leaving with what could potentially be a million dollar idea.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I wear many hats, I don't think many people understand how much energy and effort goes in to creating a record from start to finish. Simultaneously while engineering and vocal producing yourself and mixing vocals once complete.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Communication is key. I appreciate when clients are upfront about everything. From budgets to what they expect from me.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I often tell people I'm like a chameleon. I've work on a variety of music from R&B/Pop to EDM and Country to Gospel. I've studied under, and have had the honor to perform with many of the greats in all genres of music which kind of shaped who I am now.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think as creatives we all have our own superpowers. I'm able to take something that's black and white and make it colorful. Give it a new life.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It really depends on what's required for the song. If Im hired to write; I start with the melody and build the concept and idea around it. If vocal production, I listen to the record and sections and just organically add what I feel is necessary.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly get hired for vocals and songwriting/topline (lyrics, melody), features. As well as Vocal Production (harmonies, background vocals, adlibs) etc.
