Hi! I’m Brian and I produce, mix, and master music with a focus on building relationships with unique and talented musicians. I approach every project with the mindset of understanding the artist's intent. I listen for underlying musical themes, ask questions, reference other music, and finally draw the best sonic qualities out of each song.
After years of guitar and first violin, I received a BS Engineering at Oregon State. I’ve since dedicated the last eight years working with indie, electronic, and pop musicians.
Mixing: I love warm, punchy, and deep sonics with rhythmic percussion and clean vocals. I love a modern mix that’s equally parts emotionally moving and ear tickling. With outboard gear and plenty of professional in-the-box software, I’ll ensure each track has correct levels and panning, appropriate compression and eq, and just the right amount of unique effects and reverb. Then I’ll process each buss so the drums sound cohesive, the vocals forward, and instruments filling in the right spots.
Mastering: I’ll determine the overall balance and quality of the mix, then work on appropriate transients, balanced tone, and radio-ready dynamic range and loudness. After the first pass, I’ll listen in stereo and mono on a wide range of studio and consumer systems and headphones to make sure the mix shines in every way.
Production: Production is sacred and individual and should be approached as such. I’ll build projects with artists, keeping their ideas at the core. If parts are needed, I’m happy to use my collection of analog gear, guitars, basses, drums, in-the-box software, etc. I’ll reference other music and we can build insanely unique or beautifully mainstream songs together.

Endorse SO Lush MusicBrian has an amazing ability to breathe life into each and every project he comes across using his expertise of cutting edge audio technology and unparalleled creativity. His professionalism and love for music makes him such a joy to work with. His unique approach to mixing allows him to respect the original vision of the artist while enhancing the musicality of every track in surprising ways that add depth and emotion to any song. Brian is a true artist and I cannot recommend him enough.
I have worked with Brian on a couple different projects now, including one of his previous bands; all occasions have been extremely fun and creative. His production is on such a highly tuned level, that it never takes him long to translate something we envision. He is a multi-instrumentalist as well which gives ample insight to any genre he seems to approach. Brian is incredibly easygoing to work with on a personal level, but diligently focused on the mix. Your vision will be in good hands (or ears) with SO Lush!
Interview with SO Lush Music
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently working on mixing other musician's music around Seattle, including a talented R&B singer and a metal band. I'm also working on my solo artist project, SO Lush, which can be found on Spotify and all other platforms.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have two home studios I've built and use. The first is in a large acoustically treated room where I do the majority of my work and the second is in a smaller acoustically treated room where I get a different feel for the music. I use JBL and KRK monitors with a Yamaha sub. I also use Beyerdynamic headphones occasionally.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I ask the artist what they want from their mix, master, or production and proceed from there. Normally I mix, master, and produce for indie rock, electronic, pop, hip hop, r&b, and EDM artists.
