Interview with Wolvo
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on some major artist projects for many labels especially the Asian/Korean market. Most importantly I transitioned into an artist producer, have signed several of my own singles and now have deals in place to release more music.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I am dedicated in nurturing and inspiring all talent to achieve the best results, passionate about music and I create a positive atmosphere to create the best possible music. I am co signed by some of the leading industry labels and companies. I take my work serious and want you to enjoy the benefits of me getting you one step closer. Other Studio's/Engineers and producers tend not to think of your needs, do a half decent job and their only motivation is the money you pay them, I however make sure that you are satisfied and that you can be proud of the end result with many opportunities to further your career..
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The satisfaction of fulfilling someones expectations, bringing them one step closer to their dream.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That some of today's Artist/singers can sing like their recorded songs. There is only handful, but majority of your favourite successful singers have bad technique and don't care to develop their voice. The reason being is so much tuning, effects is used, labels and technology has forced singers become more lazy with their performance and voice.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do You Believe In Yourself?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Think about the pro's and con's, don't make your decision solely based on the most affordable option. Investing in your career is not about looking for what is affordable, you cannot cut corners in your career. When you apply for college or University do you look at whether it is affordable or what the credentials are of the College or University in applying? Take the time to consider credentials/value and the rest will fall into place. If you want quality then it is necessary to invest more in yourself and your career.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been making music for over a decade and spent the last 5 years in multiple countries. I was always told that I was a dreamer, didn't take life seriously, had no career path but I didn't give up hope. Now I am working with some of the biggest labels and publishers in the world.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would say I am sort of a mix of genre's, I am able to transform styles of genre and my strength is not just in one genre of music but a wide range of styles. My artist project is House with pop elements, but Iwrite and produce Pop and Urban artists as well.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always learn how to improve your career and abilities. Youtube is the best source for picking up advice and knowledge, learning to improve your career.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, EDM, Top 40, Ballad, RnB, Hip Hop, Future Pop, House
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Full Song Production, Arrangement, Vocal Production, Sound selection and Song Pitching, song releasing and PR campaigns
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring raw energy and music and technical knowledge. I have degree in Sound Engineering and certified with over a decade and half experience working with some of the biggest labels and artist in industry. I have very close relationships with leading executives and A&Rs with whom I meet and sends songs to on a regular basis for consideration of placement or signing. I don't just create I go out and place, sign records too. I also know how emotionally involved we can be in our songs I too have been were you have so I understand exactly what your feeling.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: it starts with the idea of the music that is written and programmed using DAWs Studio One 4, to the concept, the writing of the lyrics and melodies over the musical structure. It then goes into recording, mixing, post and vocal production to create a final song worthy of release.
