Nick Isham is an incredibly talented, singer, guitarist, songwriter and performer. He captures the maximum emotional impact and connection with an audience by writing powerfully simple and direct songs that just reach into the heart of the subject matter. He is also a total joy to work with.
Nick is an incredibly gifted musician, songwriter, and producer. I have worked with him on several projects, and in each session he has shown incredible professionalism and creativity. He is extremely intentional when it comes to lyrics and overall themes in a song. On top of that his production style is unique in that it is his own, while still being commercial to compete in the over saturated market. Also, he is just a great dude and always cultivates an incredible vibe in the studio space which definitely helps everyone’s creativity.

Every time I work with Nick we write something that we listen to on repeat for the next 48 hours. Nothing beats sessions with him. He's always grinding and looking to make good music with a purpose. He's reliable, organized, fun to be around, and innately talented. He's got an incredible studio space, cooks up beats within the hour WHILE giving input on lyrics and melody. If you need production, he's your guy. If you need a writer, he's also your guy. Honestly not much he can't do.
I’ve worked with Nick as both a songwriter and producer. He is professional in manner, highly executes & very personable.
For me: I find it extremely important to be able to work with someone who can bring your vision to life, as well as be empathetic. Nick has both of these important qualities and more to be able to deliver in both the songwriting and production arena.
Nick is a fantastic songwriter and collaborator. He always has a vision and brings unique ideas to the table that really take a track to the next level. We have worked on a number of pop songs together, and his ideas during production and writing are always spot on. I highly recommend him for your projects!
Interview with Nick Isham
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to write with Ed Sheeran, Ryan Tedder, Jon Bellion and Julia Micheals - they are definitely on the top of my list.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't spend too much time second guessing yourself - make a decision and move on. If you like a sound, great - use it! If you don't, great - don't use it! Just don't make things overly significant. We're making music! This shit is awesome and fun!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, acoustic-pop, country-pop and sync.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Rhythm - whether it's an interesting rhythm in a top line, a cool rhythm in a drum beat, and interesting guitar rhythm - rhythm is usually my strongest skill.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I can bring whatever is needed! Lyrics, melody, track - you name it, I can help!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to think I don't really have a "typical" process - depending on the song, the co-writers, etc, I can start with just my co-writer(s) and a guitar/piano and write a song, or start with a track and go from there. Really it comes down to whatever the mood of the day and the song calls for!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home-studio set up in the northern valley of Los Angeles. It's a fun, open space - great for inspiring creativity and without any limits on level of noise into the late hours of the night/ early hours of the morning.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: As a songwriter, I am constantly inspired by writers such as Ed Sheeran, Ryan Tedder and Julia Micheals. As a producer, I am inspired by producers such as Jon Bellion, ayokay, and (again) Ryan Tedder.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I have mainly worked as a songwriter and/or producer in the pop, acoustic-pop, country-pop, and sync genres.
