Vocals/Bass/Rhythm Guitar/

I am a singer/songwritter and multi-instrumentalist specializing in both American and 'World Music' in genres. I have performed for English Soul Icon 'Omar' as well as with Grammy nominated 'Gonzalo Grau y La Clave Secreta' among others. I also sing in 6 languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Wolof, etc...) so please ask!

I am a DC native with parents from Senegal and Cape Verde West-Africa. My sound, vocally and instrumentally is strongly informed by my heritage on both sides of the Atlantic. I came up playing Rock & Funk in high school while secretly learning the music of my heritage on my own. I often perform vocals and guitar or bass live and it has shaped my approach as well. In addition I have enough experience playing latin and African music and percussion to be a solid beat programmer in multiple genres. I currently cannot provide live percussion but that will change within the year.

Locally, I've performed multiple genres in various projects such as Funk/Hard Rock group Lucy Brown (Megaforce/Atlantic Records), Rock power trio Sitali, Cuban Timba ensemble Orquesta Ashe and Afro-Beat ensemble Chop Teeth. I've also performed with international notables including British Soul icon Omar (RCA/Freestyle records), Grammy nominated Salsa/Timba ensemble Gonzalo Grau y la Clave Secreta and collaborated with DC Grammy nominated progressive Hip-Hop artist Christylez Bacon.
