Seeb is an enthusiastic professional & specialist in his genre, with alot of attention to detail. I successfully worked together with him on several projects over the past years, like his own band Orden Ogan. He is a very nice, relaxed & humorous guy, so we became friends very quickly. :) I can absolutely recommend working with him, you won't be disappointed!

Seeb recorded, mixed and mastered the first album of my band Cremisi, genre: symphonic epic metal. The sound was veeery punchy, the drums were killer, and he was totally available and helpful with us, he gave us a lot of advices, since for us it was the very first big production. I would recommend him if you want a typical german heavy sound ;)

Recorded & mastered the album of my band Torian there. So this is my comment:
    - Unbeaten modern Metal sound on the highest professional & international level.
    - Very dedicated expert.
    - Relaxed, but determined work process
    ...highly recomended studio!!!

I became aware of Sebastian "Seeb" Levermann through his extremely high-quality publications, both by "Ordan Ogan" and other well-known bands ( e.g Rhapsody of Fire etc. )
A long-term collaboration has developed that has always exceeded my expectations for music production. Sebastian works at international top-level and fulfills highest industry standards to mordern music production. He´s a good co-producer always at your side with good advice. His hearing and arrangement skills are killer. Always had very good times in his studio and got best results. Highly recommended Studio!

As one of THE producers of nowaday's Power Metal landscape, I was curious about his take on a rather Extreme Progressive Metal album that keeps throwing new elements at the listener every few seconds. The result was definitely beyond expectations, leading to a balanced yet massive sound that brought everything together in an elegant way. Similarly, the communication was equally professional and easy-going, so asking him for another collaboration on the next album was a no-brainer.

Based on: drum recordings, mixing and mastering on Mindpatrol's "Vulture City"

Interview with SEBASTIAN "SEEB" LEVERMANN

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: no the one special project, but especially with stem-mastering you can achieve amazing results, even with a small budget, and make an average recording/mix sound fantastic. so there are quite a few projects that went from „ok“ to „awesome“ - and that’s great and super rewarding

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: all mixes/masterings I work on are my business card as well - so we have the same goal: make the best sounding record we possibly can!

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I just love to make great sounding records.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: just get in touch! :-)

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: i started recording demos as early as 1998 and was working on music ever since. my professional career started around 2010

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: KoRn, for obvious reasons

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: don’t overdo editing and kill all the vibe.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: To listen and to understand what the song needs. Also there is no ego involved - I want the client to be happy by making his/her vision become audible reality

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: it depends on what it needs or if it needs anything at all. if the song is great I will just try to make it sound great, even when working in the producer role. many artists have a clear vision of what they want - in that case I will just help them to achieve their goal. I will always make suggestions and if needed we can tear the whole song apart and put it together again in the best and most improved way possible

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: make good music sound great :-)

  21. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  22. A: the latest ORDEN OGAN record

  23. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  24. A: both, depending on what it needs!

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: 1.) my mac 2.) my barefoot micromain mm27 3.) my UAD apollos 4.) my Chandler REDD microphone 5.) a table would be nice, but a fridge could be more useful

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: clean, transparent, classy, modern yet natural, powerful, punchy

  29. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  30. A: all kinds of metal. but I am open to working on different genres as well. I love the challenge

  31. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  32. A: analog/digital hybrid studio setup based around a wonderful SSL Matrix. main speakers: barefoot mm27 mac / steinberg cubase / uad apollos (latest generation) UAD / Slate / Steinberg Endorser

  33. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  34. A: Andy Sneap, Colin Richardson, Chris Lord-Alge

  35. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  36. A: producing, mixing and mastering. I love to do all of that, but especially love stem-masterings because you can often improve the original mix to a crazy extent at a relatively low cost.
