Abe is a terrific talent and a real pleasure to work with. He reacted to my ideas and feedback extremely well and turned things around quickly. A perfect vocal performance. Also 5 out of 5 for writing ability, technical ability, communication and professionalism. Wouldn't hesitate at the chance to work with Abe again.

Interview with Abe Stewart

What are you working on at the moment?
Its always changing between vocals, mixing and producing.
Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
Adam Neilson or Blake Bunzel.
What do you like most about your job?
My own schedule.
What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
Thats it's 'just for fun'....which it is, but it's also how I pay my bills.
What questions do you ask prospective clients?
I like to hear previous work they have done.
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Listen to the styles they have done before. Anyone can write and produce "anything," but everyone is best at something. Find the one who is best for the sound you want.
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
I actually started doing this for a job at 16. Then by the time I had to chose between college and music, I was already pretty secure...so I've just kept going ever since. 9 years now.
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
Ryan Tedder. His lyrics and melodies so insane. I would love to learn his writing process.
Can you share one music production tip?
Less is more!!
What type of music do you usually work on?
Pretty exclusively Pop and EDM. It tends to be more uptempo.
What's your strongest skill?
Melody, Vocals, Production.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Diplo, Skrillex.
Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
50% of the time its doing topline/vocals for another artist, producer or DJ. The other 50% is split between producing and mixing. So it really depends on the needs of the project.
