Producer at Grammy-winning Gramercy Records. TV placements on E! Network and PBS. The prior single for my own band, before I began working professionally as a producer, broke 5 million streams on Spotify, and won several major radio station competitions. Here to write, produce, or mix your songs. Specialize in writing top line melodies.
Hey! My name is Tucker Jennings. I am a songwriter and producer, with a long history in the music industry. My career as a songwriter began in the alternative pop-rock band, Call Security, whose success opened many doors for me. My band’s lead single, "Small Talk," won 95.5 WBRU’s “Hottest Single” competition, earning it airtime on the popular station (which has been named one of the best radio stations in the US by Billboard and Rolling Stone). After the song won airtime on the station, it then went on to become one of the most requested songs for eight consecutive weeks, peaking at the number-three slot. It broke 5 million streams on Spotify, and was placed in two E! Network television shows. With my band, I was fortunate enough to open for acts such as Passion Pit, We the Kings, Orianthi featuring Alice Cooper, Marian Hill, American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, etc. Today, I work as a producer at the grammy-winning recording studio, Gramercy Records, in Connecticut. There, I have been given the opportunity to produce for the studio’s clients, as well the opportunity to compose and produce for TV—most notably to date, co-producing the theme song for the PBS show “Common Ground.”
Pop, EDM, and cinematic orchestrations are what I specialize in. I also produce trap, hip hop, and rap beats. I look forward to seeing what we can do together!

Interview with Tucker Jennings
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I have many projects that I'm proud of, but I'm always chasing the improvement of my writing and production
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment, I'm working on a batch of soundtrack music for sync
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet! I'm new to the site
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital! I love the flexibility, speed, portability, and endless capabilities that modern music production allows for.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I'm going to invest my attention and care to delivering what they want.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the feeling when you know you've got a great hook. It's quite literally an adrenaline rush, and I love dancing around to it and feeling like I just discovered something great.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Other than the basic stuff, I think people want to know what my approach will be to making their vision come to life. It depends on the project, but usually my approach is just to lean into the elements I most appreciate about their music already, and see what I can add to that.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I don't think people realize how much of the "gear" I use is software/plugins. So much of music production is digital now!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your intentions for the project? What brought you to the site, and how do you feel I can best supplement your work?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Let's have fun with it! I believe that yields the best results
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My laptop with all of my plugins (is that cheating?), my midi keyboard, my Apollo interface, my TLM 102, and my drum kit (for entertainment)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career began in the alternative pop-rock band, Call Security. It was our early success which helped launch my career. The band’s lead single, "Small Talk," won 95.5 WBRU’s “Hottest Single” competition, earning it airtime on the popular station (which has been named one of the best radio stations in the US by Billboard and Rolling Stone). A: Listen with fresh ears after making any major changes.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, EDM, Synthwave, Orchestral, Alt Rock, Alt, etc.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my melody writing
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I produce as a songwriter. Each element added or subtracted is done so to help move the song along as it emotes. Every element should serve the core of the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on the project, but usually I begin by playing around on the piano, with a focus on melody, and build from there.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work with Gramercy Records--all gear and info can be found here: https://www.gramercyrecords.com Additionally, I boast an extensive list of software and plugins for digital production.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Despite primarily composing for film, Hans Zimmer's approach to songwriting has been the greatest influence on the way I think about and approach my own melody writing. Being aware of what exactly a melody is communicating--without any lyrics--is vital to bringing out the emotive core of your song.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I specialize in writing top line melodies and producing backing music.
