I gave Caleb an instrumental demo of a song I needed a melody for because nothing was coming to me, and Caleb hit a home run! He gave me exactly what I needed, all I need to do is write the lyrics now. Caleb is very professional and highly recommended. :-)

Caleb is 100% the best producer I've worked with on SoundBetter. Just a total professional who works magic and turns it around fast. He nailed the first cut of my song and had great feedback on ways to improve certain parts of the arrangement. Super nice guy, great ear, crazy talented. Seriously, you want to work with him.
Working with Caleb on my song “Glimpse of Heaven” was definitely the easiest (and best) decision. He was super quick to help develop the song in its entirety within a single session. I was so impressed with his production skills and ear for instrumentation to help make this song the dynamic CCM radio pop hit that it turned out to be! He’s super easy to work with professionally and individually- and those two things are super important to me as an artist. I can’t wait to work with Caleb again because of the quality product I ended with, and the quality that IS Caleb!
I’ve known Caleb for a number of years now and have been pleased with every demo and project we’ve worked together on. Great multi-instrumentalist, singer and arranger...Whatever the style, he’s gotten it right. I’ve been very comfortable introducing artist friends to him when they needed his help.
Caleb created and recorded a backing track for my podcast (The Christian Single Moms Podcast). He did an excellent job developing something that was on-brand, and was very communicative with regard to the completion timeline. I constantly receive compliments on his work. You will enjoy working with him!
Caleb is not only an accomplished musician, but a remarkable singer and producer in his own right. He has done several full demos for me and always catches the vision and emotion of the song. As a songwriter, this is priceless. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
I’ve worked with Caleb for several years, and we’ve written and produced several songs together. He’s one of the most talented people I know! He’s an amazing musician, songwriter, vocalist, and producer, and more than that, he’s a great person. I highly recommend him!
Caleb is an absolute joy to work with. He walks with you through every step of the recording process and even offers his professional creative ideas but never oversteps! If you’re looking for a one stop shop Caleb is the man. He’s fully produced 3 tracks for my wife and I and we are 100% satisfied with all of his work!
Interview with Caleb Crino
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I just sent an Eric Champlin single off to mix, and am working on a couple demos for two Nashville music publishing companies.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I actually released an EP as an artist under my own name last year, I wrote all the songs and co produced it with a friend and am really proud of what we came up with!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Jason Earley is a fantastic writer, singer, and producer!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Great modern music has a blend of the two. Each brings their own strengths to the table.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll work on your project until you're satisfied!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get paid to create. How incredible!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: What's my turn-around time. And I'm pretty good about getting right to work on my projects... People are almost always surprised at my turn-around time.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: For some reason people tend to lump in vocal editing/tuning with mixing and master... That's not a part of that process, and should already be done before mix!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What artists/songs do you love the production on? That'll play a big role in my production process.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Let the work speak for itself. Listen to examples.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MacBook Pro with Logic, my Nord, a solid pre/interface, a U87, and Rokit studio monitors! How'd we get power on this island? Haha.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: That's a long story, haha. To make it simple, I was put in a children's choir when I was 6, been performing ever since. I started playing the violin at 8, piano at 13, guitar at 14, writing songs and producing demos at 15, went to get a music degree at 18, and been working professionally in music since I was 21.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Soft pop
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: LANY, I love their sound and vibe.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I run my lead vocal to a bus with a stereo sample delay with offset values, and blend it in to taste with the main vocal, really adds great width without sounding too chorus-y!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: A lot of different genres within Christian music, like Christian Pop, Southern Gospel, CCM, Worship, etc. I also do Pop and Singer/Songwriter stuff!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I excel at "in-the-box" work, aka synth production, drum programming, vocal editing/tuning, etc.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I really think I bring a very well-rounded perspective to my projects. I've been trained in so many instruments, genres, and other aspects of music like writing and production, I really think that perspective positively impacts whatever project I'm on.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It really depends on the project!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of a small home studio, got my mixing desk and route my audio through my Scarlett 6i6. The majority of what I do is in the box (within Logic Pro), as well as acoustic micing instruments like acoustic or electric guitars, violin, viola, ukulele, and vocals of course. My main keyboard is a Nord Stage EX, and my go to vocal mic is an MXL 990.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I've interned with Grammy Award-winning producer Ed Cash, and I love his style. Seth Mosley, Jason Ingram, and Paul Maybury are all musicians and producers I look up to.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I really get all kinds of production work - demos with just vocals and piano/guitar, full band demos, complete masters for commercial, contract vocal editing/comping, it changes day to day!
