Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I usually receive a raw vocal idea (even recorded with a phone) and create a full instrumental arrangement for it. I harmonize the melody, help define a structure and the overall sound of the song. Once we have a strong direction and I receive final vocal recordings I put all the details in place and do a mixdown, preparing the song for professional mixing. When Im recording keyboards and percussion I receive stems of an existing song (could be just a demo or a song in the final production stage) and based on references and instructions I record several keyboard tracks with my analog and virtual-analog instruments, trying to find the best sounds, voicings and melodies to suit the vision of the artist and producer. However, some of my favorite works are coming from clients who approach me with 'outside the box' tasks, this usually means scoring music for animation / film or doing sound design for performances or installations. I love working with creatives who are non musicians, they usually approach tasks with a different mindset and I learn and grow a lot in the process.
