Its really easy to work with Jem. He sees every instrument as it own and the result is so good!
Thanks again for a great sounding song! - check_circleVerified
Jem was a joy to work with, easy to be around, very professional with a great ear. Jem delivered more than we hoped for and recorded the band live in a room as we sound at a show. Jem respected the band mixing notes and very quickly understood what we were going for in the mix. Delighted we've found someone who gets who we are - great experience Jem, will do this again :)

Jem helped me produce, mix and master two songs and it does sound good, really good! Easy to work with and has the will to deliver a great result. The instrument/vocals stands out and doesn't get muddy or hidden and i think that's the way a recording should sound like. The finished songs was beyond my expectations. Highly recommend Jem.
Interview with Jem Renshaw
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring clarity and balance to my productions.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When mixing I go through two phases. The first involves gain staging and problem solving, where I eliminate problems such as room modes and establish correct mix-ready levels on my tracks. Then phase 2 involves focusing on the creative sound and making sure the track sounds clear and how the client envisions their music. I always mix to the mood of the music and highlight the tracks where they need to shine through.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I monitor through Yamaha HS8s in a beautiful acoustically treated room, using Burr-Brown converters on my PreSonus Studio 192. I mix using plugins by Waves, Slate, Soundtoys, Plugin Alliance, Neural DSP and various other established companies, in addition to using either Pro Tools or Studio One as my DAW.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by the hard hitting production of professionals such as Jens Bogren or Will Putney for heavier genres. In contrast, I also love the way Riley Bell has mixed Daniel Caesar to create such beautiful spaces in his records. I take inspiration from many many professionals, it's hard to name them all here!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Recording, editing and mixing audio to achieve the musical vision of the client.
